Description For that special Harry Potter forum that has a rule against even the mention slash because it goes against the family-friendly nature of the Harry Potter books.

To which I laughed and laughed and laughed....

I think the meaning by family friendly is that the books don't expressly mention anything beyond PG-13 rating. Sure, it has a few disturbing implications (like MURDER) but there's nothing in there that would strictly speaking traumatize anybody.
I still like this comic

You're half-right. Their definition of "family-friendly" was just that, PG-13. However they considered anything GAY!!1!one!!OHNOES! to be of a higher rating. For example this comic would have been against their rules because Snape and Dumbledore are both men. If I had drawn McGonagall and Snape instead the comic would be fine. Which is really, really messed up.

Their rules are since changed and now what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I'm glad you like it.

Oh, well that makes it unreasonable. Homophobia isn't a reason to ban slash. It's understandable that some people ARE homophobic, although that's a strong word- uncomfortable with the concept might be a better phrase- but that shouldn't influence things like this.

No kidding, eh?

IMO their old rules weren't fully thought through, and very much a product of the time (you know, back in the old days earlier this decade...).

Family friendly? The first book starts with a brutal double murder and a third attempted murder. This is followed by death, torture, insinuated bestiality, lying to adults, make out sessions, soul selling, suicide, witchcraft, dark arts, Albus's tryst with Grindelwald, cursing, date rape drugs, children speaking in tongues, and mentions of many, many, many, private hours on the grounds between Ginny and Harry. I mean, yes, it's a children's series, but it's not family friendly, and I love it!

Is it just me, or does Snape look a bit like a jedi in the last frame?...so, it's like he's using the dark side of the force?...or something...

What a horrid forum! wait family-family nature? does that mean inscent or something i mean really! and harry potter is not family-family. Draco is as gay as you could be(what with the over dramatics, obbsession with his hair, and that swagger.), harry acts a bit gay too, though ron is as straight as stick(not a good comparison, oh well) And some of the teachers are probably gay. Half of the mauders probably were. oh the list goes on and on, but i digress

That sucks, did you forget to whisper sweet nothings in your computers ear last night so now it's enacting it's revenge?

Dumbledore - "I want to kiss you but I feel it would be... what's the word I'm looking for?"

Snape - "Not in keeping with 'family-friendly values', that it's repulsing, nauseating and just plain creepy. In addition to that it would traumatise small animals and children alike."

Dumbldore - "Amongst other things, yes"

Snape - "Specifically what 'other things'?"

Dumbledore - "Well for starters you don't seem to bath, at all."

Family-friendly??? hardly. Harry Potter books are filled with gore and people can read the damned books how they please. Screw that crap, whatever that was the you read on those forums. LOL...I agree.

So, Dumbledore being dead, did Sev knock him into the next NEXT world? o0;;;; LOL.....pretty friggin' sweet.

caycowa In reply to BreakingOnion [2008-02-14 15:15:10 +0000 UTC]

I'd say here it's more of a 'what if', not so much chronologically accurate.

DiamondRaider In reply to DiamondRaider [2007-11-23 19:47:02 +0000 UTC]

It just seems to paint Dumbledore as homosexual, while poking fun at an anti-slash forum. Which, considering it was done before Dumbly was revealed as gay....I dunno. Just seems to hit me as prior knowledge.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

caycowa In reply to DiamondRaider [2007-11-23 14:25:44 +0000 UTC]

...umm I'm confused. How is this something a psychic would do?

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

fandomfan [2007-09-16 23:22:28 +0000 UTC]

Here I thought he got Snape to do it by saying something about his Mum.

Although why wizards would care about cute fuzzy animals is anyone's guess. They seem to view anything in existance as fair game for potions ingredients.

caycowa In reply to fandomfan [2008-02-14 16:27:44 +0000 UTC]

Cute, fuzzy ingredients. So much better then scaly and slimey ingredients. Gives any potion a warm, cuddly aftertaste.
