Back to full blown shading, hurrrr.*OgawaBurukku 's wonderful character Neiva, for her FaLLEN contest.
I had originally tried to draw her character Vesta, (I wanted to try something with fire again) but I couldn't get a nice pose. Then I thought of this, and I had to! I've never tried drawing ice before lol. it actually started out like this [link] but I started getting messed up anatomically because there were no lines, so I started over @_@;;
You know how many good ice drawing tutorials there are out there? NONE (that I could find, at least). Oh my gosh. So I did my best XD Either way, I had a lot of fun colouring this one. Maybe I should draw animals more haha I LOVE LOVE colouring fur so much~~
Man i'm really on a drawing spree, huh?

I really like the sharp lines in this piece... They really say "ice" to me. You did a great job for your first time ever drawing that element with no tutorials! I also see that you're one of the few people who remembers to draw Neiva's beauty mark! And the fox is really handsome too. Could I possibly use this picture for some LiveJournal icons, please? If you say no or don't answer, I won't use it, of course.

lots of blending with the right brush makes smooth colouring easier :'3 (if you have photoshop, I highly recommend giving the "Airbrush Pen Opacity Flow" brush a try out; it's set at default 19px, and is right before the airbrushes start)

I tried many time but... I think smooth colors hate me. TuT Oh very well, I'll re-try another time. รจnรฉ I'll definitely try.

I love the fox, it's so pretty, and the ice looks great! The snow really looks like it's full of movement too. And I like the original version as well, the movement of the fox is awesome! I'm always amazed by artists who can refine a picture that starts so doodly if you know what I mean, haha XD

ugh man I wish I could do that ;A; I love watching videos of people doing speed paints and coming up with these amazing pictures just from scribbles. Unfortunately I seem to be a sketch-lineart-colour person at heart.
