This scene, and the idea of a freshwater mermaid that's half amphibian rather than fish, has been brewing since this summer, after an outing to our lake cottage. I've only just gotten around to it. But lakes rock. I've grown up hanging around "the lake", and it's about time I've done some sort of ode to it. Also, catfish are tasty.

There's some wonky stuff, such as crappy lilypads and saturation issues, but I'm done x.x

Amazing concept and dipiction.
Does he not know she's a salamander? The anatomy on everything is great. Especially the cat fish!

wow how cute! This amuses me very much. Thoguh she looks kind of angry... or maybe she is supposed to.... OOoooOO I like it even more now. I can't believe you did the background with watercolours... er rather that you must have spent so much time on it, I could never do that.
