Description That small window of time between restful sleep and wakefulness, when dreams are still clinging like cobwebs to the inside of your eyelids and still lay vivid in your mind. That moment when you have to leave comfort and begin re-entrance to the bright world.

-----

My fat cat Zoe and I posing on a bed. Portfolio-fodder. Gonna chug out a few more of these things. They're a bitch, so they take forever, and make my Muse so effing cranky, so ingeneral- blurgh.

The photo absolutely sucks, by the way- more blurgh.

Close up, this sucker is a dirty, imperfect mudpile, full of uneven edges, color litter, and general ugliness- even more blurrrgh. But from across the room it looks great! Ahahar.

16" x 17.5" Watercolor painting.

wow, thats amazing....
this reminds me so much of an ex-girldfriend...she had a pink/white skin, was red-haired, and loved cats...
And she also used to wear a blue mini-short and a white T-shirt just like that when she was at home...
It may be just my brain trying to find a familiar image, but this image reminds me so much of her! Even the pose!
Nevermind...nowadays, we are still friends (me and her)

looks like it was inspired by F.Bacon works, or am I wrong? I have to admit that I love Bacon's paintings. Fantastic work.

great piece, especially as a portfolio piece me thinks. good lighting, some great details all around and the pose is interesting since you're thinking 'is she sad and hides her face' or ' she's cuddling her pet'.

yes, slidage power! MUAHahah!
Though alot of time they really don't care about the ickyness if it's not overly objectionable, they want to know the overall impression instead. orsomething.

I wish I could suck the watercolor talent out of your brain with a straw. ;__; Did you have to wait between colors for them to dry? My problem is I get impatient and want to just paint away. *is curious* Most of the time my colors bleed together.

CBSorgeArtworks In reply to Jillness [2005-10-04 23:57:23 +0000 UTC]

Unless I want soft shading I wait between colors. What I do in the mean time is work on areas that don't touch the one I just finished. Like I would work on the left half of headboard while the right side dried, because they don't touch. Also, my lamp is really hot, and I lower it close to the paper to speed drying along. I also know people who work on more than one image at one time so while one is drying they have something to paint.

*ohnno straws!*

Shheeez, your watercolors. Awesomeness in buckets, always.

Depth. Definitely the winning point of this image--and accomplished with not only perspective, but color and shading, too.

Watercolor shading effing rocks, because you can blend all pretty colors together. But it also sucks because it's hard for me to get things dark enough, blarrgh!

Thankness and ketchup.

Perhaps these uneven edges and color litter add to the charm of the painting? I enjoy it, regardless of what a pile of poop you consider it. The little poetic blurb also makes me smile. See? -->
