He is super strong. He needs the weights. Let me see if i can explain it right. Its like trying to use a weapon that weights as much as feather. it's hard to control when its too light. 1)the big links is gives him that balance he needs during battle. 2) the weapon is made from vanquished demons forged by his guardian demon Vis'loc Hells Blacksmith.
his strength: Lifts 50 tons Max, (100,000 lbs. or a Fully loaded Freight train)
Punch Strength: can dent 5 feet thick steel wall.

That makes sense, and wow. I'd hate to get on the bad side of a character this strong. And the need to have weight balance his heightened strength is a genius touch, much better than Superman. Thinking about it, I don't think there's any amount of mental fortitude that will allow someone to fully adjust their level strength between lifting gigantic objects to molding something with soft clay.

That's why superman is such a bashed up character to me. think about it. needles cannot penetrate superman's skin when he is unconscious. YET, he can have sex with a human and NOT hurt her...what did he do? softening his skin for relations? Good point about the mental fortitude but with sex? i would think he would kill her when he reached climax. He did have a son right?

Yeah man, none of that makes any sense. Even if I can wrap my head around his ability to not kill a woman of Earth, there's still the issue of genetic incompatibility. Him having a kid in the last movie is what killed it for me the most. I like how Family Guy spoofed it though. [link]
