*** Spotted lake located northwest of Osoyoos, BC, Canada - September 2015 ***

A medicine lake for the Okanagan (Syilx) people, spotted lake is a saline endorheic alkali lake richly concentrated with various minerals. Over the summer most of the water evaporates and the spots you can see in the picture above appear. Their colour varies depending on the mineral composition and seasonal precipitation.
