UPDATE 10/5/18: Re-rendered with slightly different light settings, with an added mesh light for better noise reduction. Minor level adjustment and noise clean up in Photoshop, but otherwise this is a straight render (no layering, as in the original posting).

When UsagiRaleh requested this one for the 100 Themes Challenge , it was with this character in mind. This is Rime, Snow's older brother and (as the quote states) his faerie heritage allows him to turn into a cat. Of course, just rendering a cat would have been way too obvious. Fortunately, Rime also happens to be a professional ballerino, and wouldn't you know it, there is a step called a pas de chat, or "step of the cat." This is my best approximation of that move (I used this video as my point of reference).

Outside of posing (I combined two dance pose presets I had and tweaked them for better balance and accuracy), the hardest part of this render was the lighting: not the set up, but the actual rendering. Getting the sun to show on the floor created a great deal of noise, but changing the settings to remove said noise either blurred the image badly or made the sunlight so faint, it was nearly invisible in the scene. Thus, Photoshop to the rescue! This is a combination of two renders: one without the sunlight (and without the noise), and one of the sunlight alone, adjusted and screened on top. There were a few minor artifacts left doing it this way, but those were easy enough to clean up with the Heal and Stamp tools.
