Description Aegis takes time to honor the country she calls home on a day of independance.

I also wanted to try out a new costume on this day. The cape just seemed more patriotic somehow. I don't really know why.

Oh, that's a nice cape. Is it something Aegis wears for ceremonial occasions?

Definitely a nice picture all-around Saluting the flag seems to be a very popular way of celebrating Independence day in Angel Falls among the heroes

I was mostly playing around with a new costume idea and thought the cape seemed somehow patriotic. There have been mixed responses about it, so I might break it out sometime in the future. It being a ceremonial costume is a definite possibility.

I'm thinking this will be more of an occasional look that I might break out from time to time.

I might break out the cape from time to time. I like it more than I thought I would. Still it looks very patriotic somehow.

Glad you like Aegis.

Hey, if you don't mind, do I have permission to possibly use Aegis in my Angel Falls story saga I'm currently writing? Right now, I have no idea how long it'll be. The introduction story is on my page, and the first real story is in process now. I'd surely appreciate it.

as long as I get the opportunity to review it before you post so that I can make a few changes if something seems out of character for Aegis.

Can you link me to the intro? You seem to have quite a few stories on your site.

VERY BRILLIANT WORK!! I think you should keep the cape... make it apart of her costume... it really suits her

I might break the cape out from time to time. Right now it's just an experiment. Some people like the cape, some think it doesn't suit her.

When I first glanced at the picture, I thought that there was a large soviet flag behind. I was thinking that you were reversing the favor that you did for SSW.

I looked at it a lot closer and found out that I was indeed mistaken. :whew:

Nice job!

LoL, you mean the red background? Nah, that's just one of my standard Aegis backdrops. Black curved wall over a metallic black floor.

If it'll make you feel better I can put a hammer and sickle on it...

Glad you liked it.

Good for Aegis--any superheroine worth her salt knows a symbol of freedom and justice when she sees one! And in addition to the flag, you deserve a salute as well, Cele, for this great picture. And of course, happy 4th of July!

Well she is what Doc made her to be. He's undoubtedly the greated influence on her life up to this point and in some ways he always will be the greatest influence on her. He is her creator, mentor, teacher, and father. He definitely brought her up to love his country.

I had to give the cape a try and see what all the fuss was about. It was impossible to find a good preset for a salute. I ended up having to do my own and then ran it past a few ex-military people to make sure it looked like a decent salute.

I might break out this costume from time to time. It's not a bad look on her. It really shows off those legs and arms of hers. Besides who knows when Doc might get mischevious and reprogram the nanites on her when she's not looking. He's been known to beam down a new set of instructions from satellite without warning.

Hey, it was Captain America. If he wasn't a patriot ... well, that would be just wrong! There was a Captain Britain as well. Part of his uniform was the Union Jack. I don't remember seeing a Catain Australia though...

Levia-the-Dragon In reply to cele7110 [2010-07-05 06:16:09 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, funny how that works out... we do tend to be overlooked a lot of the time, don't see why it'd be any different in the superhero stakes...

Though Gateway from the X-men was an Aborigine... I liked him, but all things considered he was a minor character. I think there was an x-men villian group of cyborgs that were based in Australia: The Marauders. *shrug* I know old X-men, shrug.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Levia-the-Dragon In reply to cele7110 [2010-07-05 06:42:47 +0000 UTC]

I'd seen the Marauders... maybe once I think? didn't strike me as particularly Australian... of course it was during the old animated series...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

cele7110 In reply to Levia-the-Dragon [2010-07-05 06:51:28 +0000 UTC]

I don't think they were necessarily Australian. In the comics though, they were based in Australia. It was part of the Seige Perilous storyline. I never did see much of the animated series. My comic book loyalty usually rebelled at the animated series.
