Description This incredible commission was created for me by my good friend, the amazing who has been a source of inspiration and confidence for many years now. This came out beautiful, thank you so much!

Jane Smith has come a long way since her earliest inception and appearance as a highly unstable and revenge driven foe, to a master manipulator and politician, finally changing her name to Prodigy and striving to be seen as a hero to Angel Falls. What are your feelings on Jane? Is she capable of becoming a hero like American Mom and Idol think she can, or is she forever going to be seen as an anti-hero at best and a dangerous threat to the city at worst? Is she a product of 1950's thinking, legitimately trying to better herself or is she a xenophobic racist who uses too much force and violence?

Jane Smith/Prodigy is my creation and property.

I think she is a very interesting and twisted figure in Angel Falls.

Esau: She is a hero, she saves a lot of people that others won't dare save.

Jane Smith will make a fine hero even though she's currently rough around the edges.

Personal preference, I like her as the anit-hero. I do like my anti-heroes. Force is needed for the greater good.

I hope she becomes a real hero. I see her as that wolverine type of character....fights for good...but she has a dark side.

at this point i don't see any reason to alter my opinion of her being a homicidal super bitch with delusions of superiority over the one one person she's never managed to defeat.

HOWEVER

with all the plot threads you're currently weaving around her with others, there is hope for her. but NOTHING is going to change untill she get's her rage at SSW under control, and puts the old world behind her.

"you can never go home again" isn't just a cliche for them, and, for better or worse, she needs to get over that stuff and move on

The biggest test will be to see if she can remain in the very narrow code of conduct for a true hero or if she'll slip up.

That is what is great about America...Liberty and opportunity!! It's unfortunate that her ideology was so "black & white"in the views she held. The changes America went through were rough and extreme at times, but did not allow our true spirit of Freedom of choice to blossom for each individual. Personal choice has to be protected for each individual's right in making choices whether they are right or wrong as long as another's life or values are not infringed upon!!
Jane is trying to pursue true heroism and duty to our Nation's values and Liberties of Life!!
In other words to the critics, Leave her the hell alone!! No one is perfect!! Everyone deserves a second chance at redemption.
I really love the lighting effect used with the sunlight and the "glow" at the top of the flagpole is awesome and her beautiful body and facial work are very nicely done and eye-catching.
I love her golden-tanned body tone in contrast to her sunlit hair coloring and her leathery outfit looks amazing on her sexy, muscled body
I love the colors of her uniform and wouldn't mind seeing her in a pic with original Star-Spangled hero

Time can change people, and with her, it has done a lot of good, though she still has her tendencies. But being a Southern belle, she needs to relearn what it is to be one. There's much room for improvement, but is she willing to go the full distance to accept change?

If the old wounds stay closed, there's hope.

You know me, I don’t get too worked-up when bad things happen to bad people, so I’m fine with Jane the way she is. She’s trying to be more heroic, but if she remains an anti-heroine, well, she’ll still be getting the job done, no matter how many people thinks she’s a big ol’ meany for doing it.

Joe put her in a victorious pose, and the look in her eyes as she sees the flag of her beloved nation flying above her is fantastic.

I always liked Jane Smith for a couple of reasons, one of which is because she's the underdog. Coming from her home dimension, what she had to face, yeah, she's a bit messed up. I don't think very many people could come through it without being messed up, and not wanting payback on SOMEONE. Fixating on the wrong person or object of our anger is sometimes associated with PTSD. I could see that with her. She's had to work through it, on her own, in her own way, because there really aren't that many people who could understand a situation like that. American Mom can give advice about fitting in with a culture "out of time" so to speak, because she's been around that long and seen it, but not the pain of being from a whole different dimension and leaving it behind.

That in and of itself would be traumatic. That's not going off to the military to serve your country, no, that's leaving EVERYTHING behind to serve your country...and your family. Because that's what it is about for Americans. Especially the ones from the South. Family. It drives us through things, and to do things that some would call crazy, when in reality, it is just the motivation to get things done, and try to make or families proud. It's not perfect. Heck, sometimes it's flat out stupid. But there isn't anything like that American fighting spirit. Even if it's torn up and broken inside a young woman who needs comfort and guidance to put it on the right path again.

What I find intriguing about the image is that the flag is dirty and beat up so some nasty event just occurred that she is now victorious over.

I'd like to think she can change and here's hoping.

I know that a lot of people keep saying that she has the potential to be a hero, but I still don't see it.

Her drive to one-up herself on Olga is a symptom of her continuing hatred of the woman, which was a primary factor in her wanton destruction in this alternate dimension.  She is mentally unstable, and unwilling to seek help or therapy.  Much worse, she's unlikely to find any evidence concerning how mad with McCarthy-ism her father was, so she'll never have to actually face that fact.

I fear she's one tipping point away from reverting to villainy again.

The only change I see her making is that she's given up her immediate vendetta against SSW. She's just learned how to appear to be a hero to the public of Angel Falls. She'd still drop a guy off a skyscraper or endanger innocents if there was no way to publicly identify her. Along those same line, I also think if the opportunity arose to hurt Olga without it coming back to bite her publicly she'd do it. She'd be more prone to try and smear Olga's rep now. (If the recent brawl between Olga & Maia was recorded or filmed in any way and she got a hold of it . . .

I think I've made my current feelings about Smith pretty clear a number of times, but I shall do so one more time. I believe that she's really serious about trying to better herself and become a proper hero by modern standards, but she still has a long way to go. For example, crushing a villain's hands still isn't quite what you'd like from a hero, but on the other hand (pun not intended) it's still a big step from just outright killing them.

There were a lot of contributing factors that made her the person she was before her beatdown and lecture at the hands of Connie, and while I doubt she'll ever completely get over those factors she's at least working on it. Case in point: the last time she and Olga met, Smith was actually willing to stand there and listen to Olga give her a The Reason You Suck Speech instead of just charging rigt in and trying to beat the crap out of her. That, for Smith, is significant progress and a sign that she really can potentially change, though realistically I think the best she can really hope for is the kind of reputation Connie has. Except, y'know, less drinking.

I'm sure her budding friendship with American Mom won't do her any harm either. You've got someone from a similar era who's got decades of experience of a changing world, a true example of a reasonable and sensible patriotic hero, and who's also powerful enough to keep Smith in line if the need should arrive.

Well it's certainly likely she was a product of her time... but she certainly doesn't seem to be trying to make much effort to grow past her upbringing...
