Celefindel — Elven winter coat

Description The colour is a beautiful cherry red, NOT pink...
This is the winter coat for my LARP high elf made of felt loden and a kind of satin. Removeable sleeves, cut out patterns, golden embroidery on the hood with small golden glass beads on the overlappings.

Wow! I"m really impressed. I am still a beginner seamstress. I make my own patterns for 16th century dresses but that's about all.

The 16th century patterns are quite easy so they are perfect for learning. Practise and some talent is the only secret to get better

There is something special about red and gold together. It just... glows.
I like the grass-design on the chest. It feels a bit off the "standard" elven decorations, but nonetheless fits in just fine.

I love red and gold together! Gold doesn't fit to eg. blue I think.
I like to make those a bit off-standard elven designs. After making so much elven clothes with "standard" decorations they bore me a bit and I try to vary them fitting for the character or folk.

Gold and light blue does look pale. I must say that I do have a liking for dark blue and gold, as I happen to work in the navy...
But that is a more elegant combination, red and gold is more radiant.

Gold and blue looks like navy/marine/ocean, that's right *g*
Red and gold are the chief colours of my high elf which are connected to her emblem and background story. And they are seldom for elves though it looks noble and radiant, so I chose them for her
