Now that's a very pretty smile.

Model is my tiny little Border Collie Laura. She's got some good sized canines for a itty bitty little thing!

I have a Belgian Malinois who's equipped with a nice, big set of teeth ... well, partially, anyway. She does not have most of her front teeth as she was shot in the face (she's a retired police K-9). My husband will have a very rude awakening when we get our puppy (hopefully this summer!) as puppy *will* have a full set of very pointy teeth which, I'm sure, will frequently be attached to hubby who's very used to playing rough with our girl now who doesn't have them. I will point and laugh.

Aw, poor girl shot in the face. So nice that she has a loving family to retire with. Yep, those puppy teeth are like little needles. Thankfully they lose them and get their adult teeth fairly quickly, but then you are dealing with all the chewing on everything because they are teething. My 9 mos. old pup (actually Laura's granddaughter) is still chewing like crazy. Stock up now on rawhide and other chewies

She's such a sweetheart and now works as a Therapy Dog when she's not curled up on the couch. We still do some bitework and also some scent work, but only because those are things she very, very much enjoys. You would not be able to tell she is 10 years old if you didn't know ... loads of energy still and only a little bit of arthritis.

I don't like giving rawhides at all and probably won't for the puppy, either, mostly because the majority of the ones available in the stores are treated with all sorts of chemicals ... and made in China. I do give bully sticks, though, and I have a stock of the heavy-duty Kong toys as we use them for training a lot. The little bugger will have plenty to chew on.

Sounds like she's doing great and enjoying life.

It can be difficult to find rawhide that isn't from China and I don't buy those either. We go through TONS of bully sticks too - LOL! Have been trying to find an actual toy for the puppy that she can play with/chew on without destroying it. She's killed all of the "tough rated" soft toys that have survived several previous pups. She's worse than most of the Lab pups we've had over the years. My hubby calls her "The Termite"!

I'm a big fan of just about any of the hardcore toys Kong makes. I get the black ones for "heavy chewers" and my vet carries the dark blue ones for "extra heavy" chewers, and I've got a couple of those, too. The Orbee Diamondplate is holding up well, too, and then we've got some ball-on-rope and jute tugs for training.

I once had a Mal who chewed the black Kong to pieces. That was very impressive. Then he started on the stainless steel water buckets. XD

Thanks!

It's actually on the shoutboard on my Journal. All you have to do is either click on "Previous Journal Entries" at the bottom of my journal from the main page of my account or click on the Journal tab at the top of the main page. When it opens you will see it on lower right hand side. If that doesn't work let me know and can send it to you in an e-mail.
