My first coloring with Paint Tool Sai. Don't pay much attention to the drawing since it's a pretty sketch... was studying dynamic poses back then
Anyway I think Sai is very interesting to work on and is less difficult to understand than Photoshop according to me but maybe it's because I'm used to it now.
But the digital painting seems to be easier with Sai ... unless I was in a super awesome mood ... dunno
Will try once again with something else. I will maybe paint a background for this one later but I've so many things to do now ...
Well tell me what you think. And maybe I'll start working with Sai more often

Yes it was one of the reason why I wanted to try it. As I told you, many people told me that Sai was great and everything but you were the last one to tell me that so I thought, yes now I've a little time so why not use it. I gave me 2 hours to see what I could do with it and this came out. I already had the sketch because it's a pretty old one but the choice of the sketch wasn't important since I mostly wanted to try the coloring. After that I noticed that it was also way easier to draw on it with the tablet than on PS... So I started to change the sketch a bit and ended up redrawing it... mostly the face

I tried to explain it to my cousin yesterday. She came with my parents yesterday afternoon and wondered how I was able to color digitally. So I tried to explain the best I could but even with that she doesn't seem to understand. "Oh my CΓ©lia it looks bvery complicated

For now the shading seems very experimental (as it should)
but I really like the direction you're taking. Maybe a bit of variation in palette would do wonders,
right now it's a touch too strong on the pink-red. Maybe a bit of blue or yellow can balance some of the edges.
