Description WIP idle for Twilight Sparkle for something I may or may not (most likely not due to laziness) continue.

I'd really appreciate some feedback on this, I really would. <3

Oh hey, what have we here o:

I'd say the thing I appreciate the most is the fact that her hoof pixels move, if only just barely slightly. To me, that is enough movement for it to feel "complete" alongside everything else. There's nothing worse than a lazy idle stance... of which I've seen dozens in my time, including some I did myself, ahaha... >.>

Also, it looks like you improved the sprite a little bit since last I saw it, so kudos to that~

The slight movement on the legs was really an afterthought, and after looking at it again (thanks to someone pointing it out) there's a bit too little movement compared with the upper body. I plan on looking at it again.

The palette is a bit different than the previous version, and I do agree that it makes the sprite look better. Good eye for noticing that.

I'm glad you like it. You have no idea how long I worked yesterday on trying to get a half decent idle, and even then this isn't that special <_<

I can wager a guess

The hoof movement is decidedly far less than the upper body, but I don't think there's any reason to make it more dynamic for the sole sake of making it more dynamic. At this point, of course, it becomes a matter of opinion, but sometimes it just looks better for the leg movement to be minor and sometimes it looks better for the character to be moving all about. For someone with more energy, the latter is obviously a better choice, but for a character who's not moving all too much in the first place... well, you know. It's up to you, though!

I think in the end, after taking a good second look, I'll agree that the legs should move just a little more. Her chest may be asking for the same treatment, if only barely. I apologize for rambling until I came to a better conclusion myself!

Anyways...

I'm currently working on just giving it more movement to make it seem a bit more lively, but not too much to make it seem out of place for Twilight's stance (which is supposed to be fairly basic here, mostly because I'm unoriginal with no good ideas). Making them all wacky and wavy wouldn't make sense. Currently I do feel like they move a bit too little... we'll see when I animate again.

I think there could be a lot more motion in the legs. A lot of stuff is moving around at the top but the legs look kinda static, you know? You could probably get something if you were to shift the leg outlines not left/right but up/down.

Thanks for your feedback, now that I look at it again the legs do seem to not move enough in comparison with the rest of the body. I'll tweak with them here and see how it looks.
