Description The dawn broke as sunlight shone against the cover to the cave. The smoldering remains of the campfire only glowing in faint embers now. Having lost its fuel in the earlier hours of the morning, the cave still retained most of the heat so it wasn't uncomfortable. First up was Penne, pouncing onto Thorn's head and licking over it. Grooming as she would her own fur lazily.
Ganet however was still asleep, kicking as he seemed to be caught in a nightmare. Not an uncommon occurrence for the Lopunny but it looked more like simple restless sleep. Nothing immediately concerning.

Thorn grunted lazily as the Vulpix’s early morning antics stirred him from his slumber. After realizing what the source of the commotion was, the Aerodactyl settled back down content with just letting the vixen entertain herself. Meanwhile back towards the center of the cave, the Garchomp was just becoming aware of her surroundings again. However as she came out of her slumber, she was woefully reminded of yesterday’s antics as the soreness of the entirety of her body made itself known. Jayla winced as she strained to sit up from the sleeping roll to give herself a quick inspection. She was honestly somewhat surprised to see a distinct lack of bruising that she had expected to develop; that oran juice really did work wonders.

Ganet being the heavy sleeper that he is, still snoozes on his bedroll. He may have been made to do exercises and military training back at his home but when he was out and mostly relaxing he wasn't an early riser. Shifting and kicking lightly with his back feet, that short tail of his wagging away.
Meanwhile Penne continued to groom the Aerodactyl, purring more akin to a purloin or meowth that as opposed to a Vulpix. Quite taken by the big fossil it seems.

The shuffling of fabric was enough to divert Jaylas attention to its source. Either the boy was a deep sleeper or was not one for rising early; perhaps both even. The Garchomp shook her head at the sight with a smirk. Resisting her mischievous desire to poke the fluffy little tail peeking out from the covers, she stood up to stretch what muscles she could. She was in no particular hurry to be anywhere today, as she could always shift around her training sessions.
Towards the back of the cave, the Aerodactyl crooned softly at the Vulpix's actions despite his thick hide muting out most of the sensation. His rider’s hands and those of the stable hand were always rough and direct, not that it was all unpleasant but the attention he was being given by the Vulpix was a welcoming change to the routine.

Ears twitching at the sound of Jayla's stretching and Thorn's crooning, the Lopunny rolls onto his back. Eyes opening hesitantly at the natural reaction against sunlight. Squinting a bit before giving a yawn as he wakes up. Stretching where he is. All four limbs reaching out to get that sleepy muscle cramp out of his system. "Aaah. Mmph..." he sits up and perks his ears, looking over to the Aerodactyl and his Vulpix getting along so well before turning to see if Jayla's awake to find her stretching... but obviously a bit more expertly.

Jayla smirks at seeing Ganet stir awake. "Good morning there stranger." Stretching out her back one final time, the Gatchomp turns her full attention the Lopunny. "I hope the night treated you well?" It was only when she noticed him glancing towards the back of the cave that she became aware of the Aerodactyl's approving vocals of the Vulpix's efforts. Jayla let out a short laugh at the sight. "Those two make for an odd sight indeed."

Ganet rubs his head and over his ears, mussing up his fur in the process. He looked rough but he gave a lazy smile and nodded. "I'm well. How about you?" he gives another yawn before giving his head a light tilt, looking back at the affectionate pair and emitting a light hum of concern. "Yes... though I'm not sure why they're doing that... I suppose that's their business though." he stands to his feet. Arms swaying a bit before fetching his shin guards.

Jayla shrugged in regards to Ganets last remark. "To each their own I suppose." As the Garchomp moved to tidy up the bedroll, the soreness from yesterday reminded her of its presence. Forcing the girl to grimace a bit as she rubbed the muscles in her arm to ease the burning sensation away. "I just hope this doesn't take long to get over." Though only mildly effective, Jayla kept her composure and tidied up her sleeping spot.

Ganet folds up his bedroll and listens to the Garchomp as she tidies up, placing his bedroll in a satchel before picking up his weapon. "Well... could always try the nearest town for acupuncture or massage therapy. If they have that in this part of the world..." he humms. "I hear it can be quite effective at relieving such things..." he suggest.
As Ganet speaks to Jayla about possibly correcting her soreness sooner the Vulpix hops off of Thorn's head before nuzzling up against his side. Chittering as she continues to dote on him.

Jayla listens to Ganet’s suggestions as she tucks her belongings under her arm, save for her spear and the bedroll; the latter of which she offers back to the Lopunny with a small bowing of gratitude. “I’ll have to take some of that into consideration. And before I forget, thank you for letting me borrow this.”
The lazy fossil towards the back of the cave grunted at the departure of the Vulpix from atop its perch. He reared up his head and looked around curiously as to where the Vulpix might have run off to. Moments later the sensation of warmth off to one of his sides told him everything. Thorn stretched out his wings to shake of the morning stiffness before settling back down to enjoy the company and spy on the other two figures towards the front of the cave.

Pushing the bedroll back to her he shakes his head, giving that familiar warm smile he's been using quite often since they met. "No... you keep a hold of it. You may yet need it again. Not to mention you'd be saving me some trouble lugging it back to the academy." he gives a warm hearted chuckle before looking back up at Jayla, ears drooping back as he turns away. Hiding any signs of blush even though his fur covered it very well.
Penne nibbles happily on Thorn's side as she nuzzles into it, cooing somewhat as she pays full attention to the Aerodactyl while he watches the Garchomp and Lopunny. Padding over next to his face after a bit due to the size of the fossil to give his muzzle a light warm lick.

Jayla gives a lighthearted laugh at Ganets comment. "Well if you're so concerned about carry weight, you could always hitch a ride with me and Thorn back to the academy. I'm sure he wouldn’t mind much." The Garchomp turns her attention to the Aerodactyl in the back just as he was attempting to return a lick back at the Vulpix. Considering their size difference, the vixen’s fur would probably less inclined to interpret the action as one of affection instead of grooming perfection. "Thorn. Behave yourself now." While she spoke in a tone loud enough for the fossil to hear, she also noticed Ganet in her peripheral vision look up at her only to turn away shortly after with ears drooped slightly. She paused and looked to him. "Did I do something wrong?" Though the concerned tone in her voice was subtle, the confused expression she wore was not.

The Vulpix blinks after the lick, looking thoroughly fluffed up and due to her reactions yesterday one might think that she'd have blown a fuse. But for the first time since even Ganet had known her the vixen's eyes lit up as she hopped around happily, nuzzling and licking more on the big fossil's muzzle. Her full attention and affection directed entirely to him.
Ganet turns to reply to Jayla before standing there, eyes wide at Penne's reaction to her messed up fur. "That... that is... new..." he tilts his head to one side and gives a quick side glance at Jayla. Immediately shaking his head and waving his hand. "N-No it's nothing. You've done..." he pauses a bit longer than usual. "...Nothing wrong... it's just stray thoughts. Don't worry~"

Jayla’s confused expression remained even as her attention was drawn to their companions towards the back of the cave engaged in a full out war of licks and nuzzling. "I just hope he knows his place and doesn't end up breaking her or something." She continued watching the playful duo as the Lopunny spoke. The pause in Ganets reply hardly went unnoticed by the Garchomp. Even though she hardly knew this fellow, Jayla could not help but offer some aide of her own. Despite how outside her field of experience it was, the fact that he helped her, a stranger; it was a chance to return the act of kindness in some small way. "Well if you ever want someone to talk to, I'm all ears for you." Though as soon as those words left her mouth she immediately realized her poor choice in vocabulary. She paused for a moment, grimacing at herself in embarrassment. "Sorry. That was a stupid way to say it. But the offer still stands if ... whenever you..." The Garchomps voice trailed off into a frustrated sigh as she rubbed the back of her neck. Jayla looked up towards the sky to see nothing but clouds, hoping they would clear soon.

Ganet's head perks up as he looks a little confused at her choice of words when talking about the Aerodactyl and Vulpix. "Break? Penne? She's as sturdy as a rock type and seriously skilled. Not sure what you mean..." he pauses, letting her finish before cracking a smile.
The Lopunny practically bursts out laughing as she seems to be upset at her choice of words, wiping his eyes as he softens into a giggle. "A pun? About my ears? Never has someone so accidentally and casually done that then apologized for it. Oh dear." he chuckles and gives a sigh, shaking his head and looking up to Jayla again. Smiling and dipping his head a bit. Obviously rather nervous. "W-Wanna go out for coffee or a milkshake s-sometime?" he finally plucks up the courage. It was a step but he was about to find out if it was the right one.
Penne ignores her companion's laughter, breathing heavily as she stands there. Fur in a bigger mess than when she used to be on the streets. Beaming in a wide smile as she pants, pressing her nose gently to the tip of Thorn's own muzzle.

Thorn breaks away from nuzzling for a brief moment as he scans the floor around them. After spying his target he makes several attempts to pick up the mystery object with the very tip of his mouth. Once he succeeded in doing so Thorn turns back towards Penne and playfully sticks the comb from before into the fur on her head before giving her another lick.
With almost practiced precision, the Garchomp turned and bowed apologetically to her Lopunny companion. "I didn't mean to say it like that. I just have a bad habit of saying my mind when I'm around those I feel comfortable with." Laughter was not quite what Jayla expected to be hearing. She had been raised to show manners at all times and to respect others as well as ignoring the social and racial biases of the lands. With a deep blush on her face that she could never hide, Jayla listened to Ganet speak. Thoroughly embarrassed, she was relieved to see he wasn't upset by her stray comment. But his last request gave her pause. It wasn't a hard question to answer, but she couldn't help but note that there was something about the way he said it. Regaining her composure, Jayla worked up the nerve to speak up again. "Sure. I mean it's the least I can do for having dropped in on your schedule after all."

Penne nuzzles into each lick Thorn gives her, it would seem that the Vulpix is completely smitten with the gentle giant. Making sure that he doesn't lap over the comb however just in case it sticks to his tongue. The Vulpix didn't want him to accidentally choke on it.
Ganet gives another shake of his head, waving his hands in front of him. "No no... you didn't interrupt anything I couldn't do at a later da... time." he changes his wording mid-sentence, looking a bit confused at himself for even changing that. "I was happy to help. And you don't really... need to do anything for me if you'd prefer not to... you know. But... I'd like to get to know you more... even just as a friend." he folds his ears which are in fact blushing bright red right now.

Seeing that Ganet was just as flustered as she was, Jayla lets out a deep breath and again looks to the overcast sky. "I usually get so focused on my training and academics that I hardly ever make the time for social outings." The Garchomp smiles softly as she looks over at Ganet from the corner of her eye. "Considering all that’s happened here, I think I can make the time for an exception like you. It'll be good practice for me to ... well, to be myself. Not a student, not a knight in training, just me." She would have continued on that thought had a ruckus from the cave not grabbed her attention. Jayla could only stare in amused disbelief at the disproportionately sized duo playing around. Returning her attention to Ganet, Jayla chuckles before speaking up again. "Anyway, unless we have other business to attend to here don't you think we should consider heading back to the academy sometime soon?"

The Lopunny's tail waggles happily at the acceptance of his request, nodding his head and giving a happy smile. Possibly the happiest smile she's seen from him so far. All the others looked so forlorn and somewhat had a hint of sadness to them before. "O-Okay. Should be f-fun. If we're not... ehe... you know. Stuck in awkward silence." he gulps a bit at the thought of that happening. He looks at the playful duo in the back before looking back to the Garchomp with a nervous smile. "Do you... want to pry them apart or shall we be walking back to the Academy?" he chuckles and gulps a bit, thinking he doesn't really want to get Thorn upset given those powerful jaws of his. Wouldn't be his wisest move.

Jayla considers her options. This vulipx wasn't just some random feral, it was someone’s companion. And though she didn't mind much him breaking character just to enjoy life a little, she was ultimately responsible for him and his actions. This kind of behavior was unbefitting for a mount of a future royal knight of the kingdom. "I know what you mean. But as much as I hate being a killjoy to them, I just don't want him to hurt her unintentionally." The Garchomp sighs and turns to take a few steps back into the cave before taking in a deep breath. "THORN! KNOCK IT OFF!! We're heading out." Her voice was loud enough to echo throughout the entire cave and enough to startle the Aerodactyl to cease his actions to investigate the source. Thorn huffed in agitation when he realized that the interruption came from none other than his rider. The fossil was reluctant to leave the company of his newfound companion, but at least now his full attention was aimed at the Garchomp figure towards the front of the cave.

The Vulpix jolts and lets out distressed growls at being interrupted, ears perking up and turning her head. Whimpering slightly and nuzzling against Thorn's side as he looks towards Jayla. The Lopunny freezes in place at how loud and commanding Garchomp's voice echoing throughout the cave. "W-Well you've certainly got the tone of voice down. Ehe..." He scratches the back of his neck, looking towards Penne and giving a light hum.

Thorn huffs out a puff of smoke, clearly not pleased about being interrupted. In the end though, it was his respect for his rider that ultimately ruled through. The Aerodactyl barked softly at the Lopunny's words before chirping at the Vulpix to get her attention. Lowering himself to the ground, it seemed like he was offering her a ride out of the cave.
"It's silly to think that worrying over something like this would prevent us from having a drink together." Jayla laughed nervously. "In the best interest of all parties, it probably would be best to keep their interactions ... supervised to some degree."

The Vulpix churrs as she nuzzles at him before accepting his offer, hopping into his back. Not seeming to mind right now that her fur is all messed up but she will likely get Ganet to tidy her up later anyway. Demanding little thing that she is. Heating her body up to an agreeable temperature to soothe the Aerodactyl.
Ganet raises an eyebrow and hmms, shaking his head and giggling a fair bit. "Oh my... not sure about supervising them... my my that would be... worrisome..." he blushes, wide eyed and shaking his head. "Always personally believed in the privacy of others...” he huffs, leaning against the wall. "Well... no use arguing about it. What happens happens. Shall we go?"

Seeing that Thorn was making his way out of the cave, Jayla returns her attention to Ganet. Just then she felt something nudge her from behind. Turning around she was greeted by Thorn, Jayla was surprised to see him holding her spear in his mouth. The Aerodactyl must have picked it up from the floor from where she left it earlier. Patting his muzzle with a smile of gratitude, Jayla retrieved her prized possession. "So what'll it be Ganet? Do we walk or do we ride?"

The Lopunny's clawed foot kneads into the floor of the cave as he gives it some thought, looking up at the Aerodactyl. Reaching his regular hand up to the fossil, cautiously. "Does he trust me enough to give me a ride yet? I've not known him or you for very long... yet it seemed long enough for him to fall for my Penne I suppose..." he hmms and nods. "Well we'll fly. If he lets me. No crashing though I'm broken enough as it is..." he reminds everyone with ears to listen.

Jayla nods in acknowledgement of Ganets concerns as she thinks on that for some moments. "We'll kept it limited to just above the forest canopy, but that’s a fair point you have. Him not knowing you of course. I could always make him accept you regardless of what he thinks, like I do for others. But that would make the trip ... a little less enjoyable for everyone. Especially considering your ... um, condition." The Garchomp unintentionally made a small gesture towards the Lopunny's corrupted appendage as she spoke, a gesture that did not go unnoticed by the Aerodactyl. Thorn walks over to the Lopunny and looks him over. He leans in towards the Lopunny's extended hand to take his scent only to huff it back out and shake his head. Still not entirely approving of the omni-like appendage of his, he peers back over to the fluffed up vixen as if to ask her for the Lopunny's creditability.

Penne arfs to the Aerodactyl, an acknowledgement to the fossil of her companion's credibility. Likely assuring he's good at grooming as well and boasting that she's trained him well to look after her like a butler. The spoiled little thing that she is, also she seems to have a bit of urgency as though she's wanting to get back as soon as possible. Not that the Garchomp or Lopunny would pick up that especially given the lack of ability to understand the Vulpix and Aerodactyl.
Ganet hmms and looks somewhat concerned, looking to his Omni-like appendages before letting out a sigh. "Perhaps I should have had them amputated... mechanical ones would have been easier to blend in with. Wear shoes and even um..." he clears his throat, probably hinting at his previous job.

Jayla looks over the Luponny with some concern in face. "Corrupted or mechanical limbs; either one has their fair share of perks and quirks." She extends her arm and rests a finger on his nose. "But from what I've seen, you're perfectly fine the way you are." The Garchomp gestures with her hand for everyone to move out into the clearing in front of the cave as she moves that way herself. "Sure you may not be 100% pure blood anymore, but you're in good health, decent spirits, and dare I say ... in equal company?" She had a smile on her face as she spoke those last words. This was not a subject to be dwelling on. She had seen good soldiers completely destroyed over the loss of a limb; her father among them, but he was able to pull through thanks in large part to his wife's and daughter's continued support.

Ganet goes a little cross-eyed when Jayla rests a finger on his nose as it twitches a little, his ears turning a light shade of red as he nods. "O-Okay... you make a fair point. I'll keep that in mind. Though it's when people and... recently Thorn. Don't take too well to how I look now." he shrugs and walks out into the clearing. "It's tough... but I won't stop fighting. Still have to explain all this to my family..."

“I know I can’t speak on your behalf, but honestly if they have a problem with it then they can just shove it.” Jayla glares over to Thorn only to stick out her tongue at him in mockingly. Still a ways back, the Aerodactyl see this and responds by snapping down at the air in her direction, causing the Garchomp to laugh. “Prove yourself capable and competent. That should be all the proof they need. If they can’t look past that then that’s a fault on them, not you.” Once out in the clearing Jayla stretches out her arms to work off the tension she felt in them only to regret doing so mere moments later, grimacing as the twinge of sore muscles ran across her nerves. “We’ll definitely have to take it easy on the riding.” She waits for Thorn to arrive before she starts to check and secure the saddlebags and the riding harness. “Best make sure your things are packed and secured. Once we’re up, Thorn may not be as inclined as I am to stop and pick up lost goods.”

Ganet nods and makes sure all of his gear is fastened securely in Thorn's satchels, including Penne's comb. He knows the Aerodactyl would stop for that but while camping out in the wilderness for a bit was fun, there were more comforts to be had back at the academy. Warm food, comfortable sheets. "Alright let's get back. I'm itching to do some more training and read some good books. Not to mention I haven't eaten in two days." he chuckles and moves to mount up on Thorn. "And thank you for the vote of confidence. I'll keep it in mind... hopefully my first experience flying will be better than my first experience falling." he laughs a bit, recalling another time where he'd fallen.

Jayla pats Thorn on the side, a clear signal for him to hunker down at let everyone mount up. “So long as everyone behaves themselves, there shouldn’t be any worry about falling. We’ll keep the flight level just above the forest canopy and not at break-neck speeds. The flying conditions right now aren’t exactly prime, but we both have other places to be after all.” Hopping up into the rider’s saddle, Jayla looks back to make sure Ganet and Penne are secured and ready. “The both of you all set to go? Or do you need any extra bracing straps?”

Getting himself and Penne secured atop the Aerodactyl after the Lopunny hoists himself up, the pair get as comfortable as they can before he gives Jayla a nod of acknowledgement. "All secure and ready to go home. I think we could all use about an hours or so relax when we get back before doing anything... perhaps a nap would be in order after our flight?" he suggests to the still aching Garchomp as she takes the reigns, or however she rides the great fossil.

Jayla chuckles at Ganets remarks. "Indeed. Some rest would be nice; as would a bath and a good meal." She looks back toward Ganet with a smile and then turns attention forward. "Anyway if we're all set to go then let’s be off." The Garchomp clamps down on the fossil with her lags and flexes her feet. Thorn raises himself up slowly, adjusting his balance to the carry load and flexes out his wings. "Best brace yourself." She utters quickly, "Takeoffs can be ... a bit disorienting." Not really waiting very long after saying those words, Jayla gives a quick tap to Thorns sides with her heels. The Aerodactyl lets out a roar before flapping his mighty wings, quickly taking to the skies.

Ganet yelps, holding onto Penne as they take off. Suddenly they're soaring above the tree canopy with the Lopunny looking in absolute bewilderment below them. His heart pounding as his Vulpix simply enjoys the flight. A fearless little vixen that one. "W-Wow... at this speed we'll be home in no time at all!" he gasps, the sheer excitement plain on his face as his fur ruffles a bit from the wind.

The Garchomp edges Thorn a little higher above the canopy. The cloudy weather was making it somewhat more challenging to get her bearings straight as she scanned the horizon for any familiar landmarks. Eventually, the distinct silhouette of the academy’s fortifications could be made out off in the distance. Pulling on the reigns accordingly, Jayla adjusted the Aerodactyls flight path. “At this rate, probably half-an-hour at minimum. We have the luxury of having the sky to ourselves this morning, so we don’t have to rush ahead to clear a path for anyone.”

The Lopunny takes a deep breath, taking in the moment and reveling in it. He was deathly afraid of heights but the thrill and enjoyment from this seemed to overtake any sense of fear he had about the situation at all. He looks over to the towering silhouette of the fortifications that makes up their current home, ears folding as he recalls all the adventures he's had so far as a Knight in Training there. Ups and Downs. "Good. It'll be nice to get... home." he chuckles and gives a thoughtful hum once again. A question he'd no doubt save for another occasion. For now everyone wanted for the academy they called home.

There was something about the way Ganet said home that made Jayla tilt her head back him in curiosity. She looked at him from the corner of her eye before returning her gaze forward. Home. The comment made her wonder how well her parents were holding up back on the home front. The Garchomp chuckled softly, surprised at the sudden feeling of homesickness. Jayla whipped the reigns to edge Thorn a little faster, to which he eagerly obliged. From their current distance, it was easy to tell the old stonework of the original academy from the newer repairs done recently. This was her home now. And she would do everything in her power to ensure that it would stand for as many years as possible. Though still a ways from the academy structure itself, Jayla started the Aerodactyl into a slow circle around the academy grounds. "Is there anywhere in particular you want to be dropped off? Or are you just going to hike out from the stables?"

Ganet looks to the academy and hmms, tilting his head before eyeing up those stone walls like he was thinking about scaling them. Surely he couldn't be thinking that though, surely not. He may have however but seems to snap out of it, shaking his head and giving a more thoughtful and practical hum. "Yes. A good walk or jog up the stairs would be a fine morning workout." he agrees and yawns. "And a good healthy collapse on my bed." he gives a light hearted chuckle, sighing a bit as his body goes a bit relaxed. Head resting against Jayla's back. "Sorry... it's... so peaceful up here." he apologizes, trying to lift himself back upright.

The Garchomp laughs softly. “No need to be sorry Ganet. There’s always a certain sense of freedom one gets while being up here. Something about it being just you and the sky and nothing else.” Jayla would have leaned backwards to stretch out her sore back, but with the Lopunny resting his head there, all she could do was just make sure her dorsal fin wasn’t smacking him in the face too much from the wind as it rush by them. “Do you want to spend a little more time up here? Or are you ready to get your feet back on the ground? We’re not that much further from the stables at this point.”

He nuzzles into her back, blushing and getting back up with his ears perking to attention. Nuzzling was a no no. Certainly at this point, they may know enough to be friends with each other but maybe that was going a bit too far. Ganet was a rather self-conscious Lopunny when it came to possibly offending people or overstepping boundaries. "U-Um s-sorry. Yeah we can g-go down to the stables now... but if you and Thorn will have us I'm s-sure me and Penne would love to fly sometime again..." he smiles a bit lopsidedly, showing his embarrassment.

Jayla signaled Thorn to begin the descent. She made sure to take it easy and not rush the process this time around. “Anytime you’re up for it, I’m game. Thorn on the other hand, maybe not so much. But bring Penne along and that ought to solve the problem.” Jayla laughs. “Truthfully though, the real trick will be getting our schedules to synchronize. But I’m sure we can work something out about that down the road.” The Aerodactyl slowly circled the academy one last time as they descended towards the stables. With each passing minute, activity on the ground was becoming more and more noticeable.

Ganet's ears perk up as they get closer to the ground, looking at everyone going about their day as Thorn comes in for his landing. "Hm... a circular landing? Many creatures I've observes tilt their wings back so they can descend in a straight line... though I suppose that takes practice... it is a lot faster after all. Which comes with its own dangers if rider and mount aren't confident in each other." he observes as they're about to make contact with the ground just in front of the stables.

While she agreed with the Lopunny's logic, she focused her attention on landing the group safely across from the stables. With a much gentler touchdown then the past day, Jayla gave the Aerodactyl a satisfactory pat on the back to which he responded with an audible huff. "Thorn here hasn't had to carry a load like this in some time. So I figured giving him a break and avoid any reason to strain under a more direct approach to landing." While still holding onto the reigns, Jayla dismounted from the fossil and started leading him toward the stable. "Which in turn also gave us a little more time in the air ... to enjoy the sights."

Ganet dismounts as well, almost getting his clawed foot caught in the saddle so he stumbles a bit much to his displeasure. Managing however to correct his footing and remain on his feet. "Thank you Thorn, Jayla. You've given me and Penne a much more eventful time out. Seriously though I had to drag her along to that training session. She wanted nothing to do with it. Yet now I think she's changed her tune..." he chuckles and gives a light sigh, retrieving his things.
Penne gives a satisfied yap before padding up to Thorn's head, nuzzling into the top of it. Almost purring like a kitten. Vulpix made some odd noises.

With his Vulpix passenger, Thorn lets out his own reptilian purr to match the vixens as he waits for his rider to unfasten the riding harness and its accoutrements. Jayla smirks at the sight and complies without much hesitation, even while still trying to give Ganet most of her attention. "I don't mean to make it my business or even understand why, but going out so far away just to get in a bit of training seems a bit much in my book. And by judging by how your friend there was acting before, I could only imagine the trial you had to go through to bring her along." Gathering up all of the riding gear, the Garchomp brings it over to a storage chest over by Thorn's stall and starts sorting out what materials to bring back with her and which ones were to stay behind. "I would bet that you were there for at least a day or two before I even dropped in on the scene." The smile she wore on her face as she spoke was accompanied by the faintest of blushes. Recalling the event was still somewhat of an embarrassment for her, but the understanding company helped to dilute the negatives of it all.

He pauses a moment while he places his cane on the floor, walking over to Jayla as she puts the saddle into the storage box. Giving a light smile. "Well yes... during the Omni invasion I kind of just wandered off on my own to explore. When the news came I was off like a shot... though I never made it to the wall I managed to save some members of a patrol... I suppose that's something. But of course I led the Omni away and after a few days of being pursued doggedly... they managed to get me. Twice. Next thing I know I'm in a medical ward." he rolls his eyes.
Not paying much attention to Penne as she makes like she's wandering off in another direction before sneaking round the back of the stables and into the Aerodactyl's stall. Making sure that the fossil was the only one that spotted her. A smart little vixen indeed, she was a good enough messenger for slipping away unseen and Ganet never really held her in one place like most pet owners felt they had to. She was his companion but in essence a free spirit.

Thorn shook his body and stretched out his wings to work off the strain from having the harness on for as long as he did. The fossil casually sauntered on over to his reserved stall, careful to spot where exactly the Vulpix was lurking within before settling down into straw pile with a grand ol' yawn.
Jayla watches the winged fossil return to his stall before dusting herself off. "And after everything is said and done, we're still all in one piece." The Garchomp gathered up her things and holstered her spear across her back. "So ... Sir Ganet, is this where we part ways?  Or do you have anything else in mind for the day?"

Ganet rubs the back of his neck and chuckles, blushing a little in his long ears. "Well... nothing short of maybe going on that little um... d-da... date?" he shivers a bit as he manages to get out the words, turning his back. "I find myself less tired than I thought I would be... and a milkshake with you seems like quite the entertaining idea. I do understand if you need to rest th-though..."

The Garchomp's expression of surprise quickly ebbed away as the blush crept in across her face. Jayla found herself coming to a stop to actually process what she thought she heard. "Cashing in on that already? Heh. And here I thought you meant later this week or something like that." She couldn't help but laugh at herself for assuming such. "Alright. It's not like I had anything else planned for the day. Would you mind if I at least make myself more decent before heading off? I'm not sure I'd be making the right impression going out in these rags." She picked at the collar of her shirt to emphasize the point. While Jayla wasn't one who normally favored formal/flamboyant/stylish attire for social outings, she at least knew the difference if not the importance of dressing the part. For Ganet, she was compelled to give him that much respect in return for the gratitude he had given her.

Ganet nods and gives a light smile but one could easily tell how ecstatic he was through his eyes alone, his heart almost jumping out of his chest. He nods and makes for the exit to the stables. "I'll g-go get changed as well. Thank you Jayla. Sorry for pushing this on you... if you'd prefer not to its fine. You don't owe me anything." he assures her, looking at his arm before giving a nod. "I'll use my arm as well. No sling for this." he chuckles.

Jayla waved her hand as if to bat off any concerns lingering about. "I'll be fine. I'm well overdue for a distraction like this; something that isn't related to training or academics in any way, shape, or form." The Garchomp spoke with a sincere smile on her face despite how much she wished the still persistent blush to go away. As the pair started walking out of the stables and towards the academy dorms, she tilted her head at the Lopunny in curiosity when Ganet mentioned the absence of his sling for the event. It took her a bit to interpret what he meant by the statement before a smile crept across her face. "It'll be nice to see you move about unrestricted." Jayla looked ahead of them and up at the academy walls. "So after we've taken care of our respective needs, where should link back up with each other?" She thought about proposing back at the stables, but she wanted to consider alternative, less cluttered locations as well.

"How about..." Ganet looks towards the stable doors and perks up his ears when he gets a thought. "The courtyard? In front of one of the fountains perhaps?" he suggests, giving a warm smile to see what she thought of the idea. Not wanting her to do anything she didn't want to. The Lopunny wanted Jayla to enjoy this as much as he wanted to.

"I presume you mean the courtyard shared by all the academy houses yes?" Jayla may not have been at the academy for as long as Ganet has, but she was aware that each house had their own courtyards as well as fountains. It was a silly thing to clarify, but one she just wanted to make sure there was nothing left to chance. "It's a splendid suggestion. And if memory serves, there's plenty of benches there for us to wait on each other." This was such an odd chance to just be herself and she wasn't about to squander it over details. "Let's get a move on then shall we? Times a wastin'."

Ganet gives a nod to affirm Jayla's question about courtyards, he had barely noticed that each house had their own courtyards. Or had forgotten since he'd spent so much time away from the academy. "Yes the main courtyard." he beams and practically pads off, taking his field equipment with him and not using the cane. Seems he could run fine it was just necessary for slow walks due to his odd feet.
