Did you hand-sew it?

It is machine sewn with hand finishing on the hem or places where machine stitching would show.

You have a very admireable talent. And your accuracy with this piece is also great! I love the colors you chose for the dress. You look so elegant

Lovely work- and your fabric choices are splendid- the patterned fabric looks very appropriate to the period- I'm guessing you're going for 1530s-early 1540s.

The line is gorgeous on this. What did you use for the pattern for the hood? Is that the one from Tudor Tailor? I like a lot of the courtiers down at MOSI, but it looks like you can out-sew most of them with your eyes closed.

Yup the french hood is from the Tudor Tailor, view C I think, I don't have the book in front of me at the moment. The sleeves were from the book as well, but the rest of the dress was an old one I managed to rework. Aww thank you, I feel like I am just now really coming into my sewing abilities. The drafting and draping and hand finishing finally all come together and mesh the way I want them to.

That book is wonderful. Everything looks great. I know faire season is over in Florida for the year, but what is next?

Usually once July hits I start planning something for Halloween, but at the moment I have a few works in progress, along with the never ending pile of little things that are almost done but just need trim, beading or buttons.

Hi, I made all of it including the hat. The only thing I didn't make was my shoes and socks.
