with the pinkish background it looks very nice. Almost studio-like. How did you get that background?

The background is actually water, as this was shot from a bridge leading across a small lake. In Photoshop I cloned out some very messy looking leaves and branches that were floating around, and when I changed the hue and variation of the photo a bit to bring out the pinks of the flamingo, the brownish water turned more purple, which I thought was a very nice effect

Wow, what a great photo of an amazing animal!
I really love how this turned out. The way she is looking away from you really adds a lot. Cool background, too!
Keep up the awesome work!

Thank you I would have preferred it if he was looking towards the camera or at least sort of side-ways, but I guess this shows off that beautifully curved neck quite nicely instead

This is beautiful. I really like the Flamingo's pose and the gradient in the background compliments the bird. Is that the water or did you put in your own background?

ceronaPhotos In reply to Celleno [2010-10-28 16:23:16 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, glad you like it The background is the water (the photo was taken from a bridge leading high above the lake where the flamingoes stood), although I did remove some leaves and stuff that I didn't particularly like..

Wow it's water? That's even more cool.

ceronaPhotos In reply to Celleno [2010-10-28 16:45:07 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but obviously it was another colour in the original photo But it actually changed by own free will into this colour when I adjusted the hue of the picture to bring out all the pinks :]

Absolutely stunning - quite possibly the BEST photo I have ever seen of a flamingo, it makes him/her look so regal and statuesque

This photo is perfect, I love these birds. ^.^ I always makes me laugh though becuase I live in FL and people like to use the flamingo as like a bird from florida, when originally their from Africa. hehe great shot, as always. ^.^

Thank you! Flamingos are great - I've never been able to get very close up to them though, or get any good photos of them, which is unfortunate :[

OMG lovely.S T U N N I N G. Is this edited?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ceronaPhotos In reply to teresa290 [2010-10-27 12:58:42 +0000 UTC]

Thank you It's actually not majorly edited; the purple background is the water (the photo was taken from above) which was a sort of ugly brownish blue colour, so when I tried to bring out the lovely pink tones of the bird itself, it changed the ugly water colour into something a bit more suitable Other than that, I've just edited out a few leaves and stuff that were floating about

ceronaPhotos In reply to verybluebird [2010-10-27 12:44:02 +0000 UTC]

Thank you :] It was just taken from a bridge leading across a lake where the flamingos were standing, so all the purlpleness in the background is the water. It actually changed to that colour automatically when I adjusted the hue and saturation - it was a sort of brownish colour before, but I wanted to bring out the pinks in the birds plumage, which also made the water appear very purple (although I quite like the effect ) - and I just got rid of a few of the "impurities" in the water, such as a couple of leaves and little branches
