with the pinkish background it looks very nice. Almost studio-like. How did you get that background?

The background is actually water, as this was shot from a bridge leading across a small lake. In Photoshop I cloned out some very messy looking leaves and branches that were floating around, and when I changed the hue and variation of the photo a bit to bring out the pinks of the flamingo, the brownish water turned more purple, which I thought was a very nice effect

Absolutely stunning - quite possibly the BEST photo I have ever seen of a flamingo, it makes him/her look so regal and statuesque

This photo is perfect, I love these birds. ^.^ I always makes me laugh though becuase I live in FL and people like to use the flamingo as like a bird from florida, when originally their from Africa. hehe great shot, as always. ^.^

This is a very interesting photograph; it looks as though it was taken in a studio.

Thank you :] It was just taken from a bridge leading across a lake where the flamingos were standing, so all the purlpleness in the background is the water. It actually changed to that colour automatically when I adjusted the hue and saturation - it was a sort of brownish colour before, but I wanted to bring out the pinks in the birds plumage, which also made the water appear very purple (although I quite like the effect
