geez, I've had Chalcedony sitting in my little toy chest for even longer than I did Bastnaesite! This was actually the first gemsona I ever designed, around the same time as I adopted/adapted Adularia. I also actually stole the idea for Jadeite's star-shaped cut-out from Cal's design, too.

after this, I'm going to work on a drawing of Addie, Bast, and Cal for Event 3. I think I might even draw them all together ufufu :3c

Appearance:
      A pastel-toned gem wearing complex yet overwhelmingly casual fashion. Standing at average human height, they have short hair which covers one eye, and always seem to be listening to music on their pink headphones...

Weapon: Bladed Yo-Yo
      A trick yo-yo on a strong metal string of seemingly endless length, the size of which varies depending on the task at hand and the amount of energy Cal is able to muster. The 'string' can be made to grow or shrink in length at will, useful in tying up enemies or just doing yo-yo tricks, and the yo-yo body/blades themselves can spin quickly enough to be made like a saw blade.
    Their fighting style is fast on their feet, with high stamina and flashy, visually impressive special attacks. They are, however, utterly incapable of taking a hit, and have rather low physical attack, especially lacking in close-range combat. Most of their hand-to-hand combat, which is not very refined, actually consists of kicking and leg-based attacks.

      Cal can disguise themself, objects, and small spaces to look different than they are in reality.

Personality:
      confident | outgoing | optimistic | loud | brave | feisty | impulsive | immature
    A self-assured, comptetitive gem who never backs down from a challenge, Cal sometimes even borders on impulsive and hasty in their decision-making. They are driven by a love of adventure and a tendency toward becoming bored somewhat easily, which constantly leaves them looking for something new to do, no matter how stupid that thing may turn out to be. Oh, and the only thing better than getting into trouble alone is to drag other people-- friends and strangers alike!-- along into it with you! Their usual target is their brother from another mother, Adularia.

Brief History/Backstory:
Chalcedony was created at a kindergarten, and immediately taken note of not for their beauty or grace like most Chalcedony, but their complete lack thereof. Without their knowing, they were scheduled to be shattered in the near future, but were able to quite literally save their own life in a clandestine display of their illusion powers-- proving their eventual use to a diamond, and prolonging any plans the kindergarten authorities had to destroy them.
Eventually, they were placed on a ship to homeworld, where they were to be made of use in a diamond's court there-- or so it was thought. Cal's lack of finesse, attention span, and willingness to work-- especially for a cause they didn't believe in-- made it all but impossible for them to be useful to anybody, even with their unusual and spectacular power of illusion. And, just like that, it was back to the shattering block.
This time, however, Cal learned of their impending shattering before it was too late, and disguised themself as a noble gem in order to catch an escape warp pad off Homeworld. They used many disguises in their long process of running, and running, and running as far as they could away from that planet, at which time they thought they'd lost all hope altogether in the authority system of diamonds. When they met Sun Diamond, however, that changed. Sun Diamond was almost more like a friend than a superior, and they respected someone they could be pals with far more than one they essentially had to worship. And so, they joined her court, and came to befriend other gems in nearby courts, too-- including Adularia , a familiar face from Homeworld.
