That's exactly how I feel! Fanart made me start shipping Riku/Xion because they look so good together.... They're not one of my top favorite pairings, but I do like them, it makes me sad when people hate on them, and I've seen some good interpretations of the pairing that actually work pretty well.

I don't believe any pairing should be bashed! Especially, when someone puts a lot of effort in finding some sort of interpretation to make their OTPs valid. I mean, not saying Riku and Xion are canon, but it's really frustrating to know that people can be ugly when it comes to something petty like pairing two characters up. They are characters! Let people appreciate the pairings they have learned to love, I mean, really!

Agreed! Even if a pairing is canon, people shouldn't be bashed for shipping alternate pairings, too. It's fandom! People are allowed to come up with interesting "What if?" scenarios! I think the reason people have so much fun with shipping in KH is that virtually none of the romance pairings are canon, which gives people free rein in fandom. (Also, free rein to ship platonically, too. XD I've come to adore KH friendships way more than romance.)
Saix/Jasmine is one of my top favorite pairings for Kingdom Hearts - I'd be horrified if somehow, in canon, Jasmine ended up divorcing Aladdin and eloping with Saix or something, that'd be ridiculous; but in fandom, I've written the SaiJaz pairing and it works so delightfully, I love it.
And really, should people be insulted by indignant fans when they have the skill to make unusual pairings plausible? I've seen other people write perfectly plausible stories for pairings I don't ship, like Sora/Xion, and even though I won't ship the pairing, I still appreciate the fact that it was well-written.
I've seen ugly results of pairing wars...it makes me really mad. People shouldn't be so uptight about their favorite pairings; just because, for example, they adore RokuShi, doesn't mean that they should hate on RokuNami fans, and vice versa. I've personally been turned off from pairings I previously liked, solely because of Fan Dumb. X( People should just agree to disagree. My friends and I have some different views on pairings, but we still love each other very much even though we hate some of each other's ships - preferences and opinions shouldn't get in the way of friendship and common courtesy!

This is such a beautiful picture, it's got a sad tone to it but yet somewhat extremely romantic as well 
I really like this, I especially like the fact that Xion looks delicate, though Xion is strong it's nice to see 'her' being protected in a picture with Riku for once
