the hands in this don't seem to blend in with the rest of the picture, unless it is the look you were going for.
how do you achieve the pure black?

Beautiful, I had always loved the photograph, and you managed to capture the same emotion and soul in the eyes, you should be very proud of this piece.

I believe that you have struck a moral chord amongst the masses with this drawing. It symbolizes the struggles that we are all witnessing inthe ARAB communities in the Middle East. Amongst all this hate and discontent, there are children that simply want to draw or write or go to school, whcih are all symbolized in this drawing, Very powerful stuff.

Like the million people here on DA, I have seen all of your other works but this has to be my favorite so far.Not that it's your best work, but that it is full of emotions and symbolism. Of course th drawing is priceless, the way you have reenacted the slight smile and that light in the kid's eyes just makes the expresion full. The shadowing on her face is just so beuatiful and real that it really has a reality tone to it, although the eyes may be a little too dark...but i'm a 14 year old girl who's trying to give a good comment, don't listen to me. The veil that she's wearing is as symbolistic and real as it can get. Now I am not sure what you intended it to be, a representation of muslim tradions or just a darkness with lights of hope. That is what I see here, hope. Being a person who comes from a muslim country I have seen children cloaked under veils clutching to their dolls, or their books. Or it's the envelope that keeps them in the darkness and while the kid wants to learn how to draw, it's not that possible yet a simple pencil gives hope. While I am not sure what your main idea was for this, but I see hope. Memories do fit in this actually, a sense of childhood, a sense of a new life, a new thing. I always try to find something wrong with every drawing, somehting I can give critism on, but here I cannot do so, I have been blinded by the power of childhood, by the magnificent sense of lighting here, which just makes this perfect no matter what. I have never faved anything of yours before, well there is a first time for everything right?

the first time i saw this i thought, wow you are trying out b/w photography..but when i realised that you do pencil drawings, i was like, no...it can't be..then i scrolled down to read the description..it's really what i thought it would be, a pencil drawing.
my jaw dropped. really
