Description
Mysterious energies, strange smoke, and funky green pendants that, when stolen, cause the galaxy to fall into great war.For some reason, this also gives me vibes of "Pandora's Box," but that takes a somewhat distant second to the title given to this.
Anyways, behind the scenes, there's an element that I cropped off the left side because it requires wonky framing and structural modifications to fit in, but I also need to stop being super obsessive-compulsive with framing...

One of my all-time favorites. This reminds me of chaos given consciousness and form...no eyes, no discernible features to us humanoids; smokelike, beautiful in its incomprehensible movements which, if studied too closely, might cause gibbering confusion for beings on the material plane accustomed to things in three dimensions. Yet it seems to break the fourth wall and regard the viewer with machinations of an alien mind best translated as an intent to reduce any being of a semblance of order to an amorphous state...before ultimately deciding to dematerialize and effect its unpredictable influences upon some other plane. Or, if we're lucky, somewhere else on this same plane.

According to my profile I'm only 23, and in the grand scheme of fractal artists, I'm both male and relatively young, which may put me in a minority here on DA XD
When I grow up I want to ... not grow up, and be able to look at the world without it being tainted by negative opinion, politics, and instead always filled with curiosity and capacity to learn more. Β That's one reason I like artwork -- particularly what I make, because it still lets me explore an infinite medium, and I always feel like I learn how things interact better.

This is beautiful. When I look at this image I see the corpse of a woman (a corpse because the skin is so white) who is wearing an emerald "pendant of souls." I haven't quite decided whether the pendant is absorbing or releasing her soul, probably absorbing.

From my own interpretation of this image, I'd say it would be 'containing' her soul moreso than 'absorbing' or 'releasing' it. Β Being able to pull out a person from the image is a very interesting thing though, as I wanted the "pendant" to be representative of more than just jewelry or a priceless treasure, but of a person.

Thanks for the comment! Β I've recently started experimenting with ways of sharpening stuff during the rendering process so things like this don't appear as blurry. Β I really like the "fluid-like" consistency of the bottom right personally, but the metallic/inlayed sharpness is also pretty cool too

I wanted silver and gold metallic colors to play a large role in the coloring of this, regardless of what it turned out to be. Β I'm glad that you feel it looks that way ^_^

There are definitely fire-like properties to the motion, I strongly agree. Β However, I didn't want to force a fire theme on this image after trying to get a nice silver/gold gradient working.
