Ok, so there is probably going to be a lot of people who don't like this stamp. That's fine. That's your opinion. For those of us though, who have been a goth LONG before it was the "in thing' and the "fad" will love this stamp! Of course both are very different.
The goth scene is around since the early 80's, and the song Bela Lugosi's Dead (1979) by Bauhaus is often considered the first goth song.
Also emo bands often whine about how bad life is and hate to be sad and they often just sing about lost relationships.
Goth bands have very different topics in their music, the lyrics sometimes are more poetic and romantic, and often very dark and they love melancholy and like old stuff like from the victorian era.
Many goths also like to write very sad poems. I was a member of a german goth forum and some of them liked to visit abandoned places and enjoy the atmosphere there. And also many goths are very friendly and never always sad. No they can enjoy life and be happy just like people outside the scene.
Also the way they dress is completely different. It's not just about the black colour...

I have a friend who is clinically insane, and we talk on a regular basis. But it's mostly just ranting about life and words of encouragement. Sure, I could avoid someone, if they do anything to hurt me mentally. But if you want me to avoid someone because they have mental problems, please don't tell me what and what not to do. Hell, you're reading the reply of someone with a messed up mind right now.

Emo is fashion and music.
Goth is about the same on definition it. Fashion and music, I know goth also takes inspiration from old Victorian styles, as well as from the old Goth buildings from history.

Goth isn't personality. All goths have different personalities.
You have bubbly goths, calm goths, angry goths, sad goths, etc.
Goth is a fashion style and music genre and literature genre and architecture style and art style.

Gothic culture is all about music. Also a person that wears a pink tutu is a goth if (s)he listens the right gothic genres of music. It is a simple thing but really many teenagers think that goth is a person that wears 'goth clothes' and listens black metal or emo bands.

I'm not saying I disagree with you, but I think that anyone who has a liking for anything dark (gothic poetry, gothic songs, clothing, vampires, werewolfs, gothic stories) can be considered a goth. Admittedly yes, music does have a great deal to do with it, but I think it's not all about music.

Gothic culture has changed over time. It encompasses more than just music anymore. Though you are right about one thing. You can't always tell who is 'Gothic'. This stamp is basically a protest against the stereotypes that are placed on any form of the Gothic community.
