Description Digital Painting of Chenita, a Cougar at Jungle Cat World
Painted from scratch in Photoshop CS4, using one of my own photos as reference.
About 9 hours of work.

Please note that if you but don't comment, I probably won't get a chance to say thank you... so thanks in advance!

I had a lot of fun painting this! I usually don't paint an entire animal, favouring portraits... but after painting Spirit the tiger, I wanted some more practice. I'm actually very pleased with the way that it turned out! I don't think her face is quite right... it looks like a cougar, but not like Chenita... or at least, I don't think it does. But the painting is finished nonetheless.

As for the background, I actually bothered to do one! Yay!
I came to enjoy painting the stone, but HATED every minute of painting the plants. I need some more practice with that. I do like the clouds though... so overall, I'm thrilled!

A wonderful piece of art from a good artist who adores the feline species as much as I do. The fur strokes are realistic and soft, the tail is smooth and bushy at the same time, the eyes are a good shape and the ears are very well controlled. The paws look very realistic and the tongue is realistic as well.

You did a good job on this, but you could do a lot better. If it weren't for the repeated words of copyright, this would be pronounced even better. I wouldn't really rely on too much Copyright. May your next artwork be the best.

Oh damn. This shows to me how darn late I am when it comes to commenting on deviations. I mean, how long has it been? Almost a year ._. Sorry.

Though, here goes. Better late than never, right? I love all your paintings, and then (of course) your cetaceans more than anything else. But don't get me wrong with that one, I really like this painting too Cougars have fascinated me for quite some time, as they are really wild and can have that intensive stare... Wonderful animals. You cpatured that beautifully in this painting, it seems like she's looking at something down below, something edible probably And I can understand your trouble with the plants, I hate 'em too when drawing >.<

Really stunning, I love the background, it fits the puma perfectly. The cat herself is beautifully done, I'm loving both of your full body cat pictures, keep it up! In fact, I think I prefer them to the portraits (although I love those as well. xD).
