Description IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a photographic submission, NOT to be confused with stock. DO NOT use, alter, or reference! Don't do anything at all with it!
Also sorry to say that if you don't comment, I probably won't have the time to say thank you! So thanks in advance I guess!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Horus, Beluga Whale @ Marineland
BY FAR one of my favourite sets of shots from this season!!!
Horus does a bow, this was one jump, and I've stitched it together (poorly, I know...) to show the progression. It has been AMAZING to see all the great behaviours that the trainers have been working on.
Did I mention I LOVE this? I LOVE IT!!!
Get over the watermark. This is mine.
Note about the Title
No, it is obviously NOT a pig, and I am NOT saying that belugas resemble pigs... what I'm say is, it's so TOTALLY rare to see a beluga pull off a bow like this! Pretty much one of those... 'Yeah right, a beluga can do a bow... when pigs fly' situations
Belugas just aren't built for obtaining height in jumps... but Horus was making it look easy!
I've never seen a beluga go air borne, much less a leap like that! It's always like, "PLOP!... splash." and then you go... "Was that white object a beluga?". Hahaha.
That's the best part of watching belugas jump! It's so comical! Although Horus was doing a really good job here
I am so jealous! Whenever I see a jump it's ALWAYS from behind. *gives you another commented although she already commented on this photo*
I think you did very good with the stitching! And the title is very clever.
A beluga leap is a spectacle indeed! I thought there were three going at once when I saw this icon
I was so thrilled to see Horus and Burnaby jumping like this... I wish I'd have seen three at once!
I would cut more of the water around his body out, just because some of the reflections don't quite match up or transition quite right. (The reflection of the yellow tree is what catches my eye.)
Are you using Photoshop to combine these? If so, I like to take an eraser with a lot of gradient to the edges, or maybe play with the opacity on the eraser a bit. That way you get a smoother transition.
You could also try making a mask (again, if this is Photoshop) and simply cut out his body as a standalone and place it over the background.
Otherwise it looks pretty neat. That's a pretty amazing feat for a beluga.
That yellow tree really did mess me up with this manipulation. I should go back and fix it at some point.
That's a good idea, if I don't get back to it on this manipulation, I'll make sure to keep in in mind for my next one
Thanks for the constructive feedback!
Holy crap! I can't believe this is a photo manip, I honestly thought it was a real photo. Clearly you've done a fantastic job with putting this together because it totally fooled me. The idea is absolutely amazing and the photos you chose to put it together are perfect.
It really is a rare sight... mostly belugas just are NOT built for jumping
Thanks so much for the !
Thanks! I did make a minor change from the original version... I altered the trees so that the same pattern didn't just repeat three times (that stupid yellow tree lol)
Thank you so much for the !
I think you have shown an excellent procession here Aelia! the stitching doesn't look all that bad either...but I think your subject matter is simply beautiful and even if there are simple stitching errors, then someone simply isn't seeing the beauty this shot has to offer Excellent work my friend!
It was actually the first set of photos that I've ever processed like that... never done anything panoramic, some experience with it probably would have helped lol... still pretty happy with it overall though
If you think this has been put together poorly, I would love to see something that is put together in agood way! I first thought it were 3 different belugas jumping. It is just an amazing shot of an even more amazing behaviour. I know belugas don't jump high so often, and Horus makes it look all too easy. (again )
I wasn't sure about the autumn colours... personally, I LOVE green. Probably because i hate winter... and when the trees change colour it means winter is near
Glad you like it!
