Description
"Mariko" is my first lithograph print, created in the summer of 2012. This 15"x22" piece is printed with two plates (I was a n00b and such a scaredy cat). There is another version without the red. The print is consists an edition of 11, but I only have one left. Mariko reflects my fascination of creepy cults and dark rituals. She is also featured in a zine called "Super Fun Satan Club.Related content

I do love the air in this piece.Β It exudes the dark, the mysterious. Despite the bloody red tinges that accents the macabre of this image, there is a deep feeling of innocence, of sadness. It is probably due to the subject, being a little girl in a school uniform who appears to be shedding tears with that blank stare. It is as if she wants you to reach for her and empathize whatever pain has brought her to a situation she is enduring. Only a brave soul would see past the horror around her and dare understand the significance of the work.
There is much emotion in this solemn, this silent work. Good work.

Very nice ^^ the colors look good together and she looks very strong and brave, tho also almost like she's giving herself for a purpose. I'd say the only thing that bugs me is her hand. it looks like her hand is being melted and slightly deformed. But over all really nice and creative ^^
