This one is harder to tell what 'bio-gender' they are, but the body makes sense for the transformation, and nice detail on the carapace.

This one is "male". I figure the pelvis can split and swing up to the sides as the eight legs separate. The 'Bot head retracts into the chest as the right arm swings up and the head goes into place. Both arms fold against the back and are covered by the abdomen/carapace.
