Awsome work. I felt Gothmog was a useful character to add to the film, but he actually wasn't really in the book to tell you the truth. It does mention him by name just this once in the book, but it doesn't even specify if he was an orc, a Nazgul, or whatever. I'm going to say Gothmog was put into RotK for the same reason Lurtz was in FotR. Neither where in the books, but both where good to have in the films as definite leaders of the Uruks/Orcs.

I actually never knew "Gothmog" was his name until after seeing a card of him from the LotR TCG. I never played the game that goes with it but I have collected a ton of the cards just for collector purposes.
