Description The Second American Civil War, or Second War Between the States, would come to be the bloodiest conflict to ever ravage the New World.
The video that corresponds with the scenario is finally here:

The outbreak of the war could not be easily traced to a specific date as militia activity and mob lynchings scathed the country months before actual military fighting started. In summary partisan violence due to the coming 2024 Presidential elections which would see the Republicans attempting to retake control of the Legislative and Executive branches lost in the 2018 and 2020 midterms and Presidential elections respectively would slowly tear the country down the spine. A major point in the decline into civil conflict was the rise of militia activity that dominated the politics of the 2020-2024 Presidential term. A further tipping point was the eventual declaration of loyalty by the militias to the Republican and Democratic parties. Both parties denied involvement in the militias activities however the 2023 Michigan papers scandal clearly outlined the involvement of the Republican party in funding the growing Michigan Militia. Attempting to take the moral high ground the Democratic party declared the Republicans as the cause of the unrest, working to smear their image. However, the Antifa incident collapsed this narrative by displaying Democratic funding for Antifa militias in not just one, but every state. The up tick in political protests following these scandals was only further fueled by the death of Michael Johnson, an African American resident of New Orleans, shot by a white police officer. This provoked racial unrest across the country and what would come to be known as the Scathing of New Orleans which saw major armed battles between blacks and liberals against the New Orleans police department. The family and friends of Michael Johnson organized several rallies in public parks which remained initially peaceful, however the arrival of large crowds of blacks and liberals joining the protests devolved the rallies into riots with major property destruction, and roving crowds of vigilante justice warriors ravaging New Orleans. The subsequent police crackdown on the riots escalated the situation further. Rioters fired at police officers and vise versa killing ~200 rioters and police officers. The riot dispersed following a week of violence and the lynching of several white bystanders. The scathing horrified the nation with the sitting Democratic President declaring Martial law in Louisiana do to reactionary beatings, murders, and general political unrest. The attempt at dissipating the situation however failed with the Republican press and conspiracy theorists calling the declaration an attempt to consolidate the government under a Democratic regime. Further political violence ensued. The descent into chaos did not go unnoticed by the international community, though, with NATO declaring allegiance to the current government of the United States and therefore the Democrats. Both Russia and China would declare loyalty to the Republicans in reaction.
The deepening political crisis would come to head on November 6th, 2024. This would mark the traditional start date of the war with mass political unrest causing hundreds of deaths. The election of the Republican candidate to the presidency and the seizure of the Legislative branch by Republicans would prove to be the final straw for the Democrats of America. With the Republicans again winning the Electoral College but losing the Popular vote by less than 250,000 votes. Without the consent of the party, Liberal voters would take to the streets, this time protected by Left-wing militias who beat and often stabbed anyone not participating in anti-Republican protests. Their message was clear, this was not their America. This led reactionary Republican militias to meet the Liberal Protesters on the streets resulting in injury and death. The tensions would begin to boil as the lame duck Democrat President recalled the military to impose martial law across the country making the inauguration impossible. In reaction Republicans would rise up in protest, violating curfew to make their opposition known. This would result in the injury and death of hundreds of Republicans, at the hands of Democratic soldiers no less. This would break the army with mass defections splitting the Armed Forces down the spine into camps of loyalty to the Republican Party and loyalty to the Democratic party effectively nullifying the Martial law. The worsening of Political Unrest and Civil disorder would lead to the cancelling of Public School, and other low-level government offices for an indefinite period. The world would stand still on January 20th, 2025 with the inauguration of the Republican President against the will and warning of the Democrat Lame-Duck Administration. Again Liberal Militias and Protesters would rise up and again Republican Counter-Protesters and Militias would meet them however, this day was different. As the quasi-inaugurated President slunk away from his inaugural address shots rang out and the President fell. The Coup had begun. Without the allegiance of the party Radical Democratic military forces in tandem with Left-wing militias seized control of the Capital, fighting off police and protesters to announce the banning of the Republicans from the American Political system and new elections. This did not have the intended result of America rallying behind the Coup and a counter-revolution quickly began. Republicans rose up in arms across the country seizing government buildings and battling democrats in the streets. The more widely coordinated counter-coup would see success everywhere but Washington D.C which remained in Democrat hands. Continually escalating the crisis Liberals seized control of major cities and counties across the nation declaring allegiance to the Coup. This would begin the first stages of the War which saw the consolidation of opposing governments, declarations of loyalty by state governments, and uprisings, however no actual professional military conflict. Significant events of inauguration day would include the splitting and collapse of the U.S government, the declaration of the Judicial and Executive branches of government for the Republicans, and the declaration of the Legislative branch for the Democrats after the refusal of the Democrat-controlled congress to step down.
In reaction to the coup both the Democratic and Republican parties would call for peace and attempt to dissipate the violence before it could escalate into all out civil war. However their failure to significantly rally the public against its polarization would cause them to abandon the idea of peace and join the governments of the divided American people.
The beginning of what would be known as "The Calm Before the Storm" would expose the significant differences within the Democratic party and see the factions of the Second American Civil War collapse into Civil War themselves. With each new faction declaring war on all others. With disagreements failing to be reconciled within the Democratic Party its government and territory fractured, first into the Black Bloc and Democrats, then into the Democrats and Centrists. Further degradation of these units would collapse the Black Bloc into Socialist and Communist Militias.
Attempting to avoid full scale conflict Hawaii would outright declare independence from the United States but would find the resulting Socialist Uprising a difficult situation to cope with.
As fighting across the country began to intensify the differences within the Republican party fractured their territorial integrity. Alt-right Neo-Confederate militias redacted their loyalty to the Republicans and began working to restore the South while Right-wing Centrism paralyzed Texas. The internet and social media diffused the idea of a "Sinking Ship" to the populous of Texas which resulted in a general uprising of Texans against both political parties which began the goal of working toward the Independence of Texas. Thus, the Second Texas Revolution began. This would work against the government of the State of Texas which remained loyal to the Republicans, but internal support for a new Republic would lead to the consideration of a Declaration of Independence and a merging with the Revolution.
Other states too would flirt with the idea of independence, Utah, Georgia, and South Carolina would be the most prominent and outspoken. The threat of secession would lead both the Republicans and Democrats to dissolve state governments, defacto dissolving the Union. Seeing as they had lost control, the most powerful states merely ignored them.
