WOOOO. Epic responses are epic this time. Alright so it's looking like Sketchy is the way to go once I'm less far away from my Tablet. I'll churn out a few pages instead of just 1.
That fanfic is probably the reason I portray him the way I do, it is to my knowledge the only one written with him not behaving like a psychotic. Geniuses are not all crazies out to kill people and drink their blood. They have bad days and good days like everyone and Ken just caught his bro on a bad day as a little kid and doesn't understand. Everything seems like a huge deal when you're 6, so one scolding = Sky falling. Also I'm a little suspicious of ol' Sammy. I think he knew what that digivice was and freaked accordingly when he saw his brother using it.
Due to some numerous Gennai hints that there were kids before Tai and company.
Annnnyway. Glad to be of procrastina-tive services.
That made me snort loudly. I got looks.

Sounds good! Yeah, the tablet might help.
All of the other fanfic I've read are the same way: Osamu is the big bad older brother who abuses his younger brother. That fanfic definitely helped shape my image of him more, too. It's understandable why Osamu came off as being irritable so often considering the pressure he was getting from the media/his parents/his school/etc. He probably just wanted to be a normal kid sometimes, which would create some nice contrast with Ken's development over the course of 02. I dunno if you've listened to the audio dramas for 02, but there was one nice Ken-centric one where he reflected back on Osamu and thought about how his brother must have felt during his life.
I never thought about the possibility of Osamu having a connection to the previous Chosen, but I like it! I always felt that he was friends with Ryo and learned about the Digimon that way, hence him freaking out over the digivice. As for Ken... I really don't know. I've read over stuff from the Wonderswan games, but I still think he had some sort of Digimon sighting/encounter before those games because he has a crest. And now I'm just rambling.
I'm never above a bad Skyrim joke!

I do like a good rambleambleamble.
Does the brain good.
No one is above a bad skyrim joke and if they are they are lying.

Man, I personally am a fan of you pumping out work faster to be honest. Your quick style is certainly aesthetically pleasing and strong enough to stand on it's own without all the shiny accessories. Sorry I've kind have fallen off the grid recently, but I have been keeping up on your newest deviations.
I personally suspect that if you try to make it super crazy awesome all the time you'll get burnt out really fast. I know I do. Consider doing "inserts" if you would. Highly details "bonuses" if you will.

*clipboard* Okay that's one for the quicker sketchy type.
Hey don't sweat it, I have people fall off the grid on me all the time, I just have to sit still and hope no one went and died on me. I'm sure one day when I have some semblance of a life I'll probably stop being on here everyday. XP
Yeah it's true I might get burnt, but I was going to push it as far as I could to test my mettle as long as people kept criticizing me. But no one seems to be willing to do it. Damn non-offensive people, always being ...nice n' shit. Sketchy seems fine because the above took me about half an hour at best.

I don't think you'd be crying. Really it depends more on how you wish your work to be viewed. Because I mean, I enjoy your style... it's consistent with appealing color schemes. It's somewhat eccentric which I am personally drawn to, but I also feel it serves your interests. I also enjoy your subject matter. But if you have any sincere questions pertaining to anything regarding your work, I certainly like/respect you well enough to give you the fullest extent of my critiquing ability. And I'll be honest, it's rather extensive. I have a BFA and I'm a writer. I promise I won't make you cry ^_^ But, I will admit, I need a bit of direction. I don't want to give you info that isn't even relevant to your intentions.

I just want to evolve my style as smoothly as possible I guess. My I.B Art course helped structure me somewhat but without going to college I'm still a rookie awaiting training and my main frustration right now is just getting less stiff with human figures and employing more detail into still life surrounding. I practice often so... if you do wanna nitpick the small stuff please go right ahead, it does help, I've lacked a teacher for years now and it's starting to make me a bit soft I'm worried.
But yeah if it helps, I'm still gunning for illistrative design formula, painting isn't really where I wish to develop but I see as a necissary evil for colouring later, but I like to perfect an area first and that's the one.
I know where I need to improve if I'm brutally honest with myself but I do need someone to keep poking me with a sharp object and say "Hey! Hey? This? This is looking wonky. Fix it."
