EDIT:
Here are some common questions and the answers.

Is it okay to rebake the clay stick?
Yup it's entirely safe to re-bake clay. (although within reason. You can't bake something 100 times). Some even say re-baking makes the clay stronger. You can check out [link] for more information. That site has everything you need to know about clay.

Yeah I squished it a bit too much back then then I inserted the stick. This was back in 2006 and my skills have gotten a LOT better since then.

Thats cool but is there a way to put the lolipop on the stick witout it looking like a kidney bean???

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chat-noir In reply to Luvstruck3 [2012-05-08 03:00:39 +0000 UTC]

It comes with time and practice. This is a very old tutorial I made years ago. The more you work with the materials the less kidney-bean-ish it will look.

I suggest making thinner sticks, the thinner it is the less it will distort your lollipop.

Syd-Nick [2012-04-05 00:48:44 +0000 UTC]

Hmm. This is really adorable! I'm thinking of getting into clay and things like this. Using the eye pin, can these be made into earnings? if so, what equipment would be required?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chat-noir In reply to Syd-Nick [2012-04-05 22:39:15 +0000 UTC]

Yes the eyepin allows you to turn any clay item into a charm that can easily be turned into earrings, a necklace and anything else.

Polymer clay only requires clay and an oven, all other tools are optional. But for jewelry making I suggest eyepins and headpins. Headpins have a little head/foot at the bottom to prevent the pin from being pulled out of the clay (a common issue with eyepins)

Overall I use headpins in all my work because eyepins always fall out.

Yay!!! I did this and it worked!!!!
I was reading your FAQ about glaze, and well, if is a small piece like this, you can also use nail polish, the transparent one. I used it, and really gave the "candy" effect
Amazing tutorial!!!
