EDIT:
Here are some common questions and the answers.

Is it okay to rebake the clay stick?
Yup it's entirely safe to re-bake clay. (although within reason. You can't bake something 100 times). Some even say re-baking makes the clay stronger. You can check out [link] for more information. That site has everything you need to know about clay.

For more info check out my FAQ [link] or the comments here please.

Well the tutorials are very long, you should be able to right click and save the image to print it out, but it is one very long JPEG.

Riseykins [2007-12-04 14:49:22 +0000 UTC]

Would adding that liquid stuff to the candy coating make it more sticky like? You could then leave it on a smooth surface and it'd get that extra bit of sugar at the bottom of the apple from where it's been sitting with the sugar drying.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chat-noir In reply to Riseykins [2007-12-05 03:28:13 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, if you dip it and get a nice thick coating you can sit the apples on wax paper and it will create a little pool of the red "candy" at the bottom of the apple.

moonbabe1989 [2007-07-12 01:23:02 +0000 UTC]

This is such a cute idea but if you dont want it shiny, do you have to put the glaze on? or does the glaze help protect the charm or something?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chat-noir In reply to moonbabe1989 [2007-07-12 02:19:14 +0000 UTC]

Well the glaze does both. It will protect the paint you put on your charms as well as give your charm a nice shine. If you don't want your charm to shine but want it protected you can use matte glaze which protects but does not add such a shine. ^_^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

moonbabe1989 In reply to chat-noir [2007-07-12 05:16:44 +0000 UTC]

Ooh okay just wondering lol cause i dont like a lot of shine on certain things. is there a way i can dull down the shine or something? thanks

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chat-noir In reply to moonbabe1989 [2007-07-12 15:24:04 +0000 UTC]

Well dulling down the shine is tricky. You don't want to experiment and accidentally mess up a bunch of your charms. It's best to buy a matte glaze instead that will not have a shine. ^_^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

moonbabe1989 In reply to chat-noir [2007-07-12 17:45:44 +0000 UTC]

Okay lol I'll probably do that, it sounds like a lot less hastle too... with my luck, I'd mess up my whole batch and have to start over lol

Ode-Chan [2007-07-03 05:35:53 +0000 UTC]

How did you get it to dry with out the pain coming off when you put it down?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chat-noir In reply to Ode-Chan [2007-07-03 05:45:51 +0000 UTC]

I actually did put it down. I set it down on a piece of plastic (like a little plastic baggie) and when it is dry it peels right off. No damage what-so-ever. ^_^ Don't try to use wax paper though. It sticks to the paint and can get little pieces of paper stuck it in. ^_^
