I sat atop this peak and had a picture taken. Also, I wrote a paper on John Fremont. He was... overly enthusiastic, to put it mildly.

I love this! It's has an interesting composition and depth. I think, in the angle which I am seeing this, it's like as if I'm sitting somewhere within the tall plants with some of them blurring my vision. The brushwork on the clouds are very dramatic, and almost bird-like, and it really makes the piece very active when observed. Wonderful!

Thank you! I wanted to give it some feeling of 3-dimensionality which is difficult with these landscapes where everything is far away. I'm always tempted to throw in nearby trees or plants or something. I've seen artists set up a great 3d space using cloud ceilings to delineate some of the perspective lines...but I haven't quite mastered that yet. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks again.

I enjoyed it a lot, because it's not the common perspective, and it intrigued me while I looked at it. It kept me staring, actually, and that perspective/composition is the hook of the piece. You are very welcome!
