Well after last week's name mixup, I decided to pick a place which allegedly has no other place in the world named for it, Panoche California.  Theres not much out here.  Panoche is allegedly some sort of native Californian sugarcane...uh...doubt.  Panoche is one of the more unforgiving regions of California, right up there with Mojave for no water, and brutal desert temperature swings.  Sugar cane?  I'm going to look into that, because that would be fascinating if true.

I suspect panoche refers to not to a sugarcane, but the sugar bush/ sugar sumac that was used by the native peoples of the region.
