That's special Crucefix located in a hospital chapel in Rome, Italy.The chapel was buildt in 2001 and the cross too, as you noticed there is a cup for blessed water above.
They say unofficially that the cross is giving miracles, just grab some water, cross your forehead and touch the Crucefix.
Of course I don't know if it works really... by the way i tried it

a me come sai i crocefissi piacciono...sarà l'essere religiosa o l'essere gothic? direi tutte e due
credo che la cosa bella sia che tu abbia dato un significato a questo crocefisso e che questo venga fuori anche dal tuo lavoro.
(a volte però mi chiedo...perchè si deve pregare davanti a un crocefisso, simbolo di salvezza ma anche di sofferenza, invece che pregare davanti a un'immagine di un Cristo gioioso e trionfante? meglio non continuare il discorso qui eheh)
