This one was my favorite RE of them all, it had everything, shooting, action, horror, drama suspence, lots to do and discover and a totally cool story. And boy, I still cannot choose between Leon X Claire or Leon X Ada, they both seem destined for the other.
I know that in the RE series, never the main protagonist shows affection signs for his fellow pro (RE1 is the exception in Jill's scenario) but damn, I would so love both of them to be true at the same time, not a fan of 'triangulation', just undecided.... and I simply can't forgive Crapcom for what it did to their love story on RE4 onwards.

Love stories and video games can be in very tepid waters. Depending on how they decide to achieve it. I was okay with the attachment of Leon and Ada in RE2. Never supported Leon and Claire really - they work more as partners fighting the bad guys then much else.

I love how cute and sexy this came out. I love that the expressions capture Leon’s infatuation with Ada and Ada’s sneaky femme fatale attitude.

heh, generally when i draw leon, it's reII leon. it's my favorite varient. actually... i don't think i've drawn the other leons. lol

Definitely *nods* Resi 2 was the first game I completed (I had Resi 1 but it took finishing Resi 2 to get good enough to complete the first one lol) and I've got a real soft spot for all the characters in it

It's actually easier as Leon if you ask me. He gets a more useful 'middle weapon' than Claire, the Shotgun's a lot more use than the Bowgun. Plus he takes a lot more damage. I like Claire's story development more though, though Ada is really cool

I surprisingly liked Claire's Spark Shot weapon. Relatively pants generally, but fantastic for the descending elevator boss battle.

I don't think I ever used that! I remember seeing it and always going 'Blargh! 2 Inventory spots! You must be joking! Vile beasts!', maybe I should've taken it just to give Birkin a good seeing to lmao.

Crazily a deceptive weapon - strong against an enemy you thought it might not be. Drains his health quite nicely to finish off with a couple of fires from a solid secondary weapon. Saves the heck out of good ammo, especially for Claire with the middling bowgun (enjoyable to pin crows to the wall

heh, funny, reII was really my first intro to the series too. then i went back and did reI with jill and chris.

I'd gotten out of the Mansion with Jill but it had been touch and go then Resi 2 hit with things like Auto Aim and being able to swap ammo in the grenade launcher that made it easier to learn the game mechanics, then by the time I finished it I had just about enough basic skill to get into the guardhouse and finish the game. Resi 1's still an odd beast I find, like it's hard but very playable.

yeah. with re I i generally go to the remake. (i'm kinda a graphics whore) plus some of the fatalities are really graphic and violent in the remake. wish they didn't tone em down in 6 and revelations.
but yeah, back when ratings were all the rage, reII was making notoriaty and i wanted to know why. it was one of the funnest games i've played and still one i go back to

Hmm see I think generally I'll always come to RE2 for just fun, RE1 for a bit of challenge and nostalgia. But I think RE2 is the best balanced of the games. It's got a lot of horror aspect but is also an extremely well put together game, and it's short enough for you to play it back several times without getting frustrated and it's got a lot of nice rewards for replay.

yeah. plus it's just fun hearing leon complain about the girls in the game. a decent game to play if you're bored and have 2 hrs to kill. and like you said, the most balanced of the re set.
