I'm guessing this is from Victor Hugo's masterpiece and not Disney's tyranny?

the quote is from right after he pushed Frollo off the balcony while watching Esmerelda being hung, right?

Yes it is! Such a sad moment, poor Quasi.....I used oil paints to create it, then scanned in the writing I did on ink and grease paper, played around in Photoshop and added it on top

oh and I really like the painting! Especially the text, don't know why. The sky tells so much of the emotion with the gray and black. Great work.

Yeah, I've never seen so many character deaths in so few pages. And no, I don't think that's a spoiler, I didn't say who dies...
I read it just before visiting Notre Dame. That was very cool, I could almost see the story unfold in that amazing place.
It really is

That book is the most tragic one I have ever read. It's unbelievable.

Oh, poor Quasimodo. That scene almost made me die of sadness, but you definitely did a wonderful job bringing it to life. I was especially struck by his hands. They convey his emotion really well. And wow, that sky! That is totally gorgeous. Great work!

Love love love this! Wonderful painting, so much emotion--how long did it take you to make this?

I just started reading the book a few weeks ago, but I absolutely adore it already. It makes me happy to see some art that's not based off the movie.

Thank you sooo much for your lovely comment!!
I painted it a while ago now, it's in oils (oil paints rock socks), but I think I did it over the course of a week roughly? Working on it in the evenings...I'm so pleased at how much you like it though! Uber thanks!!!!

Why haven't I seen this before?!
Sad, haunting, desparing image. I like how blue it is, and his pose and expression. And the words fit very well!
