Hellllloooooo everyone! Yeah I'm back with another fanart post, and since the next fanart post will be the one that concludes the challenge, I suppose I'll do another art piece of the first character I did fanart of! (In terms of other peoples oc's, not major pop culture characters)
So, time to start off this description normally
This is fanart of the lovely JustHiro! That's right, we're doing a non-deviantart link. Though the fanart in question is of his oc only posted to deviantArt, Onyx the sheep! The oc in question was posted to his old DeviantArt account, he has a new DeviantArt account where he only has one oc, who is actually... Noticeably inspired by Timber! Since I like to have a choke hold on GSL related works I was a little antsy on letting him do it but its a one-off an the character is fun! So, uh.... Yeah, its cool. Anyways heres his new account if you'd like to look at the singular deviation! no clue if he's going to post any of his other works to there lol.

I've known Hiro for over a year at this point and he was one of the first people who made me realize that I have talents, similar to my view on Skyworld stream who I did an essay on previously. Though for the sake of keeping this tone consistent I want to make this description as un-biased as possible.

So to any Sonic fans reading this post.... Sorry. I'm not going to be writing that much about either Sonic oc depicted here. At least, not until around the very end of the description. I won't even be talking that much about his DeviantArt in this post.
(Oh and forgot to mention this, the character on the right is Onyx, a character created by Hiro, and the dude on the left and the wisp are Fracture and Kita. two of my oc's. This is why the post is titled "gift" and not "fanart"

Contrary to the characters depicted here, Hiro is actually someone who mainly does Skylanders content! Though livestreams other things on a separate channel— such as the recently released Pokémon games, starlet and violet. That being said I plan on focussing on the original content released to YouTube.

Firstly, I’ll discuss the reviews, a recent thing I’ve watched. And a thing that recently had a new instalment!

As a former Skytuber— I am more than delighted to tell you that Hiro has had lots of improvement over the few videos released!

The first video, Ghost Roaster, was…. A little… hard to watch honestly. A lot of the jokes not really feeling like they have a clear punchline. Though the video still has decent editing.

The interesting thing about these videos is that rather than being purely live action skits, or being entirely animated. It uses the live action Hiro green screened into various environments. And this allows him to be taken into various enviornments— or simply not make a fool of himself recording his Skylanders videos in, say, a mall.

All of these videos have their own sort of “lore” where after the Skylanders series ended, the Skylanders went to Earth (specifically Australia, where the videos take place) since they were broke in Skylands. Its completely different to any idea I’ve seen about the series and I don’t quite inderstand it myself but it leads to great comedy, and it means that he can interact with any sort of character! Hiro manages to befriend a Skylander he has yet to review! Boomer! Who is a... more of a gremlin in personality than a troll if you catch my drift. Crazy as you'd expect someone with his appearance to be! And in the most recent video he encounters two rather intimidating Chill, and Slam-Bam. Fun fact, both are voiced by me! Now, I kind of wish Hiro used my Slam-Bam sound effects instead of the official ones because it makes the voice change a bit more jarring (since the chill voice feels a lot more fitting despite my Slam-Bam voice being better IMO) but I had fun voicing both! Oh, and for that one part where Chills voice switches to sounding deep and raspy I didn't actually know I was supposed to be voicing chill in that part XD, so sorry for that!

Oh! And a little fun fact. My series 1 chill has her head broken off so I wasn't able to film the repose. But Hiro recorded his. For some reason he didn't want to specify that the footage of it was his. So all the blizzard chill footage was recorded by me, but the series 1 footage was recorded by him. Just a little "behind the scenes"!

Anyways, my bias aside I really enjoy the video, the description of the attacks and general commentary can feel a bit dull at times and some of the jokes have a bit too much emphasis on memes for me to consider them funny, but I still had a fun time watching the video! And managing to make a video with a skit subplot is something very rarely done well, I'm curious and excited for what the future could hold with these videos!

And the other thing I want to mention is the figure customs-- these are often just frankenstiening Skylander parts together and doing some new paint jobs but they are still very fun! And, fun fact, they were what inspired me to try doing figure customs! So uh... Thank Hiro for inspiring those!

Speaking of inspiration, the addition of the "Hiro productions" logo in the corner is inspired by some "cards" Hiro did for fun but never posted. Idk if he has these saved but I liked those cards and the use of logos in the sides and thought to include them here.

Lastly I'll talk about Fracture and Onyx) god its hard to think that its been around a year since I last drew Onyx. And that its been almost two months since I drew Fracture! Time is going by so quickly I swear, these past two months have just been a complete blur as I get countless illustrations done. And on this note, Clara hasn't been posted since February! The thing I find so strange about this year is that I made so many oc's that a lot of them are getting sidelined. Like bro I did a lot of my oc's dirty this year honestly. Oh well, next year I should be focussing on my original works even more so I'm hoping to get those posted. And I changed up Onyx's design a bit here, sort of combination of the first drawing of Onyx Hiro did, but also based on my previous drawing of the character. I'm a fan of it! And also the goofy nature of this art haha.
