Hey everyone! Just wanted to state when this prequel takes place, and when the thing this is set directly after takes place. (Technically its a sequel to the prequel but takes place during early parts of the story so could be considered a perspective flip? It's confusing)
This short story takes place directly after the comic "Creation of a mechanical monster" , and its recommended you read that before continuing this post. It takes place only a few hours after the final page. And I might do other shorter spinoff chapters like this. Just as "added context" for my story, which isn't required to understand what's going on, but again, helps with context. (Because its not required for the story it won't be included in the "reign of the wooded devil" gallery)

The mechanical demon had only known the lab she was built in, and all of the programmed knowledge she was granted by Dr. Krankcase of her doom raider masters. She was told by a young elf that her creator, Dr. Krankcase had left the side of evil and permanently decided to become a Skylander. Now, she knew previous doom raiders have been captured by the Skylanders and forced to aid the side of good. But they were still identified as villains and kept inside of vaults. Never stooping to the low of joining the very things they fought against. She was so offended by the concept of someone telling her the great evil mind Dr. Krankcase would become a "hero" that she had to kill the elf on the spot. Dr. Krankcase is pure evil, he will never change. That is what she believed.... But she will soon be proven wrong.

Finding the location of the now fully rebuilt cloud cracker prison did not take long. Only threatening some mabu with a grapple hook and she was on her way. The harder part would be to break into the prison. But this also proved to be a non-issue for her.

The entire place was surrounded by light blue traptanium, the powerful magic emanating from the crystals were so strong she could tell she was getting more powerful just by standing there. She'd walk past several villains, all sitting in solitude. Some she'd recognize, strong villains she didn't realize were captured just yet. This, at least, confirmed a significant amount of time had past. Eventually, she'd see some other wooden creatures built by Krankcase locked up in this prison. Immediately upsetting her. She'd keep a mental note of their location. Wanting to free them later, along with Dr. Krankcase and the rest of the doom raiders. Walking further she'd eventually see.... them.

But strangely enough... Not all of them. Only three of them. The first one was the Gulper, a slimey large blue slug creature, the first one who was captured. He was notably low in intelligence, and had a love for soda. Which could make him grow in size once drank. The second was the Dream Catcher, an also large floating head with long dark flowing hair, a pink bowtie, and braces on her yellow teeth. The Dream Catcher had one of the most impressive abilities of all, she could speak telepathically, read minds, and manifest peoples dreams into reality. She was caught the latest out of the three, matter of fact she was caught not long before Timber was first created. Timber was created to encompass skills of lots of the Doom Raiders, or have abilities that could help them. The Dream Catcher was the only one she didn't have abilities for, which must have been because she was never finalized.
The last Doom Raider she saw was Chef Pepperjack. Who was captured in between the Gulper and Dream Catcher. His name is quite descriptive, for he is a large man with a large red pepper for a head. And, similarly given away by the mans name. He is a chef. Although his work was held back by his frequent use of inserting bombs into his cooking. Timber was in fact programmed to support him, as she knows quite a few recipes herself.

As she walked closer to the Doom Raiders she couldn't stop herself from continuing to look around, there were still other doom raiders missing. Such as the Chompy Mage, her creator, Dr. Krankcase, Wolfgang, or her queen. The only doom raiders that knew of her existence, unless Krankcase later told the others about her, were Dr. Krankcase himself and wolfgang. Not seeing either of them worried her. But this didn't stop the Doom Raiders from immediately recognizing the machine as one of Dr. Krankcases Evilikin. They were almost happy to see her.

"Well well well! Looks like we've got ourselves one of that old traders machines crawling over to us! Pah! Or perhaps that good doctor finally decided to turn around and break us out of here? Mmm-Mmm! I've been locked up in here for WAY too long, and this smell of mustard has been given me a thousand-an-six different recipe ideas! Pure evil as a secret ingredient!" Said the chef, his voice was raspy and enthusiastic. Though his comments of calling her creator an "old trader" confused her. Still having no doubt in her mind that the elf she met was lying to her.

"Where's Dr. Krankcase." Timber asked, ignoring any of the Chefs comments towards her. Now the vegetable creature was the confused one. Seeing a machine built by Dr. Krankcase he didn't recognize he assumed the man built it recently.

"Huh? What do you mean where's Krankcase?" He asked, the floating head DreamCatcher chiming in.

"You mean he didn't send you here? What are you doing than?" DreamCatcher asked. Timber beginning to walk around the individual crystals they were held captive in as she spoke. "I was built by Dr. Krankcase years ago and recently released by an idiotic pest of an elf--possibly a suicidal one-- I was built shortly after you were captured, DreamCatcher. And upon my release apparently years later I am told by this elf the great evil genius Dr. Krankcase has chosen to become a Skylander. To protect the high standards of the Doom Raider name I killed the man for proposing the absurd idea that a Doom Raider would join the Skylanders and came here to find Dr. Krankcase, and release him along with the rest of you Doom Raiders so we can enact a proper plan to take over Skylands." Timber proposed. Only to be met by laughter from both Chef Pepperjack and DreamCather. The Gulper asking why they were laughing out of his own cluelessness and confusion.

"What." Timber asked loudly and boldly almost to a frightening degree. Narrowing her gaze and looking to the Doom Raiders.

"That little elf was right, Dr. Creepcase left us and became something called a "Sensei", he trains Skylanders now! We were asked to become those ourselves. But we'd never stoop to that low." DreamCatcher said, and in the blink of an eye Timber was inches away from the traptanium wall separating them.

"Dr. Krankcase.... No... Not him.... Why would he... I'm his greatest Evilikin... I could have devastated Skylands and he just.. Left that behind!? " Even in Timbers infinitely fast processor she was struggling to find words to say to describe her confusion. She's supposed to be loyal to the greatest evil in Skylands... How is he... Good?

"Face it, the creep doesn't care about you anymore. He doesn't care about evil. Since you must be soo good at being evil, he probably HATES you by now!" Said DreamCatcher, she didn't care about this robot for a second, and she may not have been able to read the mind of a machine, but her manipulation skills from reading peoples minds were nothing short of expert, and this robot could be the ticket to getting her out. The DreamCatcher winked at Chef Pepperjack, who after a few seconds of thought grinned and looked to Timber. "But we care about you, pretty doll. We still know what true evil means! Don't you think you deserve better than that goodie-five-legs crazy doctor?" The chef said, looking to the DreamCatcher for her to further their manipulation. "After the Golden Queen left we've been alone.. We could use a new leader, break us out and you can be our new queen! You're certainly prettier than the old one~ What do you say? You came here to break us out anyways!" DreamCatcher said. The Gulper having... Some idea of what was going on "Gulper like new Golden Queen! Wooden Queen? Gulper confused.."

"You think our great Queen can be replaced!?" The Wooden Devil punched through the traptanium walls, creating a hole that was only a foot large. Nothing large enough to break them out but certainly proved her strength. The villains assumed she'd use a separate machine entirely to break them free, not thinking she could break open Traptanium herself. They all went backwards a couple of inches, having a proper demonstration of the Wooded Devils power.

"I-I thought only the Trap Masters could b-break open Traptanium..." the DreamCatcher said, her voice now afraid.

"Dr. Krankcase extensively researched the qualities of Traptanium... How to exploit its powers... What are its limits.... And don't you think for a second such an intelligent mastermind would forget to find out how to have it destroyed. He knows everything about Traptanium from what he called his "ultimate weapon"... That useless pile of scrap clearly did nothing to take over Skylands..." Timber said. "Which is why you're his ultimate weapon! Because you're gonna do the proper thing and break us out, riiiiight?" DreamCatcher asked.

"You wanted me to become your leader. Might I ask what happened last time someone broke you out of this prison? That little minuscule incompetent excuse of a villain Kaos? You left him out in the woods turned into a statue. Or the reason you're still here? Not listening to the orders of your former Queen? I take offense in the idea that I am good enough to replace our mighty Queen and lead the Doom Raiders. And besides, you would not be loyal to me as your Queen. You'd leave me out for scraps given the chance. Because you know loyalty to no man. Pathetic." Timber said powerfully. Angering the captured villains as Timber walked away.

"Hey hey hey! I thought Krankcases machines were supposed to be loyal to the Doom Raiders!! Where are you going!?" Chef Pepperjack asked.

"Dr. Krankcase, and yes. I am loyal to the Doom Raiders. But there is only three of you. And no mighty Queen to command you. You are no Doom Raiders because the Doom Raiders are dead. The Skylanders killed them..." Timber responded. The Chef wanting to ask one more question.

"Than what are you supposed to be loyal to!?" Chef Pepperjack yelled.

"I am loyal to killing the Skylanders."

Timber said loudly, she'd burst open a separate wall of Traptanium, releasing a Shield Shredder, and leaving with the Shield Shredder held in one of her hands. At least she could break one of her evil peers free.
