I allways thought weapons are made of stell but in our times this isn't fully true anymore they are really made partly out of Poly structures nowadays light weight and still the material is resistant enough, so some past times ago i would have argued about the weapons material reaction to be to damped down but since i saw this with my own eyes i wont anymore and no those aren't play weapons or air pistols real combat weapons arent fully metal anymore.
I would guess partly Army Weapons are using Carbon Fiber these days even in parts of their shell structure (where extremely high forces pressure the material), so not the usual stuff you can buy as mr usual in a US Weapon Shop i guess.
