Initially a contest piece for the CGchallenge Steampunk. I got side tracked by many RL issues and did not have time to focus on this one in time for the deadline. In the end i finished it. I think I'll do orthos for it as well, might be fun.Related content

Yes, this really is an amazing work. Honestly, I think I'm starting to like this better than the "actual" Hades, but that's probvably just my fondness for robots kicking in

Hello there, me & a friend of mine are making a Steampunk Fantasy universe which will include a tabletop game, among these races are the Stygians, a race based upon the Ancient Greek, this picture gave me an idea for a special kind of armor for one of their leaders, so what I'm asking here is, may I have the permission to post this on the official blog? I love it when I stumble across something like this, a picture that taps into several of my favorite genres. This one merges my love of greek mythology and my facination with the retro-futuristic style of steampunk in an artistically beautiful and terrifying way. Hades presented as a collosal fernace giant filled with hellfire and mounted atop a cerberus machina is breathtaking in a way that's difficult to describe. I don't know how you were inspired to make this, but I'm glad you were. This was an instant favorite.

Impressive, very impressive, the use of color is par excellent in this piece. I can imagine this as some dark form of golem or automaton.

The flame at the top doesn't fit the style of the rest, but it still looks awesome! (well, that's my opinion)

Fantastic work. The warm and dark colors truely represent an evil, industrial tone, with Hades having a fantastic steampunk design. Not sure about Cerberus though; he doesn't look mean enough and more like an attack drone, and it certainly doesn't help that he's so far to the bottom of the picture. Still, very well done work!
