About the specie:
“Campanelle” are humans who have a special magic power stored in them; they live in symbiosis with those animal spirits, called berus. The bells, which are parts of their bodies born with their binding to a beru, are also the spirit's vital point. Initially, in ancient times, the first berus chose to dwell in human bodies just so they could feed on their magic, and one could say they were just like parasites; as time passed the bond between berus and humans became stronger and stronger, and to this day berus and humans still live in complete harmony
