Description Windows people know dis feel

i just had this idea and i felt like drawing, so i made it
quick comic, no shadows and stuff

there is probably something like this already made, idk
there are probably also tons of Windows ponies, i just wanted to make my own... i like her... you MIGHT see more from her....

and just to be clear, i am a Windows user, and im sure there are problems with other OS as well

and just to be sure:
Windows is from Microsoft
My Little Pony is from Hasbro
My thumb is mine and you can't have it

I've never had this problem. No matter what kind of Windows OS I have, my computer has never blue screened.

i must say that i'm not the most 'typical' user
I like to experiment with the things i have (and that doesn't always end in a good way).

*smacks the back of Windows Pony's head* Hope that worked.

I suffer this rather constantly on my Windows 7 laptop. But it doesn't seem to bother me since I'm more careful. But I've had this happen to me twice recently.

Nah. If the ponies were operating systems, this is how it would go...

Windows XP: There is a royal decree that only XP ponies are allowed in Equestria. They are all bright, colourful, and three times as large as they need to be. No matter where you go, somepony pops up out of nowhere and insists that you follow them. You can't do anything until you've signed a contract. Whatever entertainment is on offer is just the same show repeated over and over again.

Windows NT: The ponies are nice and friendly, and they're easy to talk to and interact with. About ten minutes into the conversation, they explode for absolutely no reason.

Windows Vista: What we saw in the comic.

Mac: Everypony looks and acts exactly the same. Every time you ask questions about details, you are gently but firmly told that you don't need to know, don't want to know, and everything will be done for you without your ever having to know, so just shut up.

UNIX: Whenever a new house or school or whatever needs to be built, everypony helps out by bringing one piece of the building each with them. They then spend ages bickering about what they're supposed to be building.

There! Came up with descriptions for everything except Linux and MS-DOS. God, I feel like such a nerd right now...

Got the idea for this from Urban Dictionary, by the way.

i just recently got in the 'lets work on a different OS for a whyle'
my whole live i have had windows and, except for Win 95 and 98, i had BSOD's happening randomly (also not on win8 but thats my parent's laptop and i can't even open task manager on it without it freezing)
i kinda based this comic off of my experience with windows (and used a completely outdated BSOD screen)

for mac, yeah... thats basically it
i understand why people like it, but i think its idiotic that people who just need internet buy one.
everytime im on a mac i go like 'what the hell am i even doing behind this overprices screen...'

i don't have any experience witn UNIX

I like Linux and i love that it starts to grow. many programs and games are starting to become linux compatible and thats a good thing to me

Oh, forgot to say -- this was a great comic! I think anybody who's had the misfortune to use Vista can relate to it. Faved

From what I have gathered upon my online travels is it really comes down to if you work with media in some way.

for example if you play games, or work in business (like with excel sheets, or have to type of reports) windows is usually the way to go.

However if you work creatively, like with art, or with music, you are more likely to run into problems with windows. It is these people who tend to prefer apple computers as they work a lot better for these mediums.

i know the gamers and busyness people usually use Window, but i find Linux more suitable for people who use their computer for work only (but they are starting to port more games to Linux).

I myself use Windows, but id love to have a mac to draw and edit and would like to use a Linux for school related projects

Dim79 In reply to chibi95 [2013-04-23 02:55:33 +0000 UTC]

Yeah but isn't Linux less user friendly? By that I mean it takes longer to learn to use then windows.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

chibi95 In reply to Dim79 [2013-04-23 15:57:13 +0000 UTC]

depends on which Linux you use. Ubuntu is pretty user friendly.
most people just think it is harder to work with cause they grew up with Windows.
if you spend as much time learning Linux as you learn Windows, you might know it just as well

Need a hoof? How often does it happen? Does it happen when you're running a specific task?

Is this a recent thing, or has it always been happening?

Did you upgrade your version of windows since you first bought the machine?

chibi95 In reply to BlackWidower [2013-04-20 19:02:16 +0000 UTC]

it doesn't happen that often and when it does its usually me overusing my cpu or ram.
