Description hopefully i spelt it right. 9.9;

this photo i took with hannah's digital camra, thats why its so blurred. the image is for my phobias project for uni.
not amasing, but still..my teacher liked it.

for this project i smashed a clock to bits then took photos of the resulting mess.
chronomentrophobia is a fear of clocks, a fear i acually have.

yesyes, i'm strange and i have strange phobias. x.x; quit staring.

this image isn't the final peice, but better then what i handed in.

i can say one thing for sure, smashing a clock to bits with a big hammer is certainly a good way to un-stress yourself. ^^ i think i worried people with this project.
but my grade was C9! not bad.

Taking another squiz at some of your past work, and then saw this.

As I think about it, I relatively FEARLESS! with the exception of a very slight fear of heights (to which ironically, I come from 'Planet SkyScraper' - Hong Kong).

I'm just wondering what goes through your mind when you see a clock?

cool, some of my freinds at university come from hong kong. ^^

there's not exactly anything going through my mind when i see a grandfather clock (my main fear, smaller clocks are more bearable) other then an unexplained panic and the ol' 'fight/flee' insinct comes into action. cc; i suppose an 'arrgh, it's looking at me! o__o' might pass through my mind.

Wow... that's intriguing. I'd think that there would be some rationalised train of thought that goes through your head whenever you see an analog/geared timepiece. But as the definition of phobias state; it is actually irrational!

I suppose the day you ever win the fight between you and Grandfather Clock, is if you give the Grandfather Clock a hug someday.

okay okay, I'll leave that one alone, and for you to sort out the day you need to face this phobia of yours.

But still, I reckon- if you're given the chance, and somehow you might have it in you... maybe... just maybe.

eh, i'm working on it slowly. i know where it came from, i was scared of a grandfather clock at a freind's home when i was tiny. nn; at least i'm not scared of watches any more!

You think you've got a weird phobia, I'm scared of those security devices they put near the door whenever I go into a store. And in the library. * Shudders *

and your phobia certainly is different, i've yet to hear of it. ^^ have you any idea why they scare you?

I have a slight fear of phones, and a major fear of school. Welcome to the club, missy.

Make that two of us, Becca. I have a mild form of the phone phobia as well. I think part of it is the not knowing who's on the end of the line (something my caller ID at home helps with), as I've gotten some disturbing prank and wrong-number calls in the past, especially at night. I'm not sure if that's the root of the problem, but my heart skips a beat when the telephone rings..

chibibecca In reply to ragethebat [2004-01-18 12:43:28 +0000 UTC]

phones? i've yet to come across anyone with that phobia, you're the first.
and school is a common fear i think, i read in a book that many people can't even stand the sight of one.

ragethebat In reply to chibibecca [2004-01-18 18:13:52 +0000 UTC]

Well, when the phone rings, I get a very slight panic attack, though it's nothing too big. It mostly startles me, if anything, but I honestly think it's a phobia.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chibibecca In reply to ragethebat [2004-01-18 19:02:29 +0000 UTC]

it could be a fear related to the phone, perhaps you're worried you'll get some bad news or something else negative over the phone? it doens;t have to be a concious thing..i know my fears are mainly groundless.

ragethebat In reply to chibibecca [2004-01-18 20:03:52 +0000 UTC]

It might be that I used to call my mom, sobbing on the phone at school when I had school phobia.

ie,

Phone = break down/pabnic attack
