Actually, how funny would that have been if they just went their separate ways after that? Like, yeah, they're connected but Rakion doesn't want her to come along so... Bye.

Well if they do go their separate ways, my thought process on the connection is that it can't be broken, and based on that water, and the female will know where each other are no matter where they are.
