Why doesn't the boomerang burn? It catches on fire, right? Therefore, in theory, it should burst into flames.
Apparently Link doesn't obey the laws of physics. He better watch out, or else the physics police are gonna catch up to him. And they have tazers.

Link got in an accident with hot glue gun and a stapler as a small child. He....Never quite recovered.

Whatever's in the next room better be worth it to loose a boomerang for.
It's kind of possible I guess because it would reach the ground before burning up all the way and so it could be salvaged, also you could say something about oxygen needed for combustion and the speed the boomerang was going but I'm no physics person.
A better question would be how it would catch on fire in the first place.
