Tra-la-la, art for a CD cover. I could get used to this "graphic designer for the music world" thing. Theo, a guy I've met while here in Bristol, writes for a music magazine and organizes gigs and whatnot, and I'm basically his artistic bitch. He does this after-school thing for 14 to 18 year olds, where they can go produce and record music at a studio all for free, and the kids are putting together some CDs. One for hip-hop/rap, one for jazz and one for indie rock.This, my friends, is the indie rock one.

Is it just me, or does "Me And Julio Down by the Schoolyard" by Simon and Garfunkle epitomize summer?

Crows can learn to mimic what people, traffic noises, other birds say. I used to know a white one who said βhiβ.
It makes me wonder what this one is singing? Maybe he or she was flying over someoneβs house that was playing a Simon and Garfunkle recordβ¦

Me And Julio Down by the Schoolyard- Is indeed a great song to listen to in the summer. And any other time, especially when the day wasnt the best. Simon and Garfunkle have very great emotional music.

this is absolutely adorable. so adorable, im gonna ask u how u did it.
did u make the drawing by hand, traditionally, scan it and prepare it for colouring later on? or did u do it directly on the pc?
and how did u get the gorgeous diagonal lines on her hair...and the brown outline? i have an inlink as to how u did this, but im not quite sure. id appreciate it if u reply....

Actually, all of the brown lines were done on paper, and then scanned in, including the lines in her hair and the cross hatching on the underside of the umbrella. I then scanned it in and colored it in photoshop! Voila!

I know what you mean though, all my favorite work ive done has been just showposters and cd covers and such. Designing for things music related is not only extreamly rewarding, but its also admittedly alot easier seeing as how all you have to do is pick up some ideas by listening to whatever music your designing for. I would most likely buy a cd with great cover art like this here and not even know if the band is good or not,... I actually waste alot of money that way....haha
