Description Do you think that graffiti is a viable art form? I think to some extent it is.....it does take skill and a good eye, and good graffiti usually is making a social statement of some sort. I'm not such a big fan of gang-oriented more traditional graffiti, but I do really like the style of this.

The colors were so vivid already that I hardly had to play with it to look nice. :3 Let me know what you think.

Graffitti is a viable art form, it saved my life. I never picked up a can and took to the streets with it, but it has influenced my art work immensely. Being from New York where Trains used to be lined with young unlistened to artists truths, it is a way to vent frustrations. I vented a lot. Thanks for this piece

i think that graffiti is just as viable as any other art form.. its just another way of looking at things and making a statement.... if you say that graffiti is not an art form then you have to negat abstract art as well as cubism .

this is a pretty clean piece though.. one of your friends who did it?? if so i thought that you might be a litle more friendly towards graff.. but whatever.. if its not your thing then so be it... um.. cool...

I think graffiti can often be outright admirable in the design and skill involved, though I'm not a fan of the rather pathetic 2-minute tags put up by amateurs -w-; this one is lovely though.

I totally agree. Grafitti involves sum serious skillz. I tried spray-painting the front panel covers of my CDROM & CDRW drives a couple of days ago, and I had to sand it down after the second coat just to get the right consistency. I can only imagine how much harder it is to be painting grafitti onto walls, with all the factors added (gravity, cops, angry shop building owners).

Nice, the placement next to the cubic shapes and pictures, near the stairway. Suge.

To a certain degree, I believe that graffiti can be considered art. I see this one piece with graffiti on it whenever I go to my bokkenjutsu class, and the graffiti reads "In the night". My brother can't read what it says, but it looks awesome. It looks like something out of a city's silhouette...

I believe that graffiti is an art, but not at the extent of private property, where it is usually done, here in cancun they opened this old place to the public once for graffiti peeps to come in and scribble all over it , even i went, and left the allmighty anime trace there, and there are such good artists out there, you should've seen *trails off*

It takes something to do it, it's not just a bunch of scribbles at all.... did you do it? where did you find it?

Awesome tho.

My cousin is a grafitti artist (well, at least he was... College is taking a lot of time from him..), and I always had contact with it...

Love your pic

I definately agree that much graffiti is an art form. Gang names and kids scribbling their names on the wall are not, but things like this take skill and heart.

Pretty much anything can be art, with the right sentiment or statement.

Wow... does that even count as graffiti? That's art. That's hella art. You should get paid for defacing that property. Seriously.
