these are called white faced whistling ducks, found in Costa Rica & in South America, & also south of the Sahara, South Africa &Madagascar They are noisy birds, with a 3 note whistling call. Taken at the LA zoo enjoy

What a wonderfully composed shot! I love the softness of the feathers and the contrast in color between the duck on the right with the gorgeous golden feathers and the two other slumbering ducks.
