A project for one of my art classes. The assignment was to illustrate a border for a song. I chose the song Left Behind from Spring Awakening. It's been placed in a traveling show.

Medium: Water colors, india ink, oil pastels, acrylic paint, and colored pencils.

Edit: This piece is not meant to make light of the reality of depression millions of people are facing. It's meant to bring awareness and a sense of understanding to everyone involved in those situations. In many cases, theres honestly nothing that can be done by time the person gets to the point where they choose to end their own life. And it is never anyones fault for not realizing. But maybe if we lived in a society where no one felt ashamed to ask for help, there would be more people calling themselves survivors. I created this piece to bring light to a horrible epidemic and help people see this as a true problem without stigma or judgment.
