Sweet merciful Lord. It's done.I started this one last year, but got distracted about halfway through the jacket and forgot about it until about a month ago at the end of my winter break. And then, when I was nearly finished with it, I had to pack up and move back into the dorms and lost my motivation once it was out of sight haha.
You may recall my previous Gaga portrait, wherein I said I wasn't much of a fan of hers. This has changed, somehow. A lot. I'm not really sure how, but I've become completely and totally enamored by her. And she is SO interesting to draw, for whatever reason (not just because of the outfits/hair... there's just something about her that's interesting to put on paper).
This is obviously (I hope) a shot of her from the Telephone video. It was, in some ways, really really fun to draw (her face and makeup especially) and in others, horrifyingly tedious and frustrating (leather jacket, studs. stupid freaking studs).

Q-Tips and Kleenex for blending
Took about 40 hours.
EDIT: Would anyone be interested in commissioning me for a piece similar to this one? I'd like to start taking commissions, but I would like to see how many people are interested first!

Excellent! love the details in the jacket and reflections on phone, etc. very realistic! I find lady gaga is frightening though , you should draw kittens

HAHAHA. It's funny you should say that-- when I was younger, I was TERRIFIED of cats because of some bad experiences I had with one. I'm not scared of them anymore, but they're not my favorite animal by any stretch of the imagination. I find Gaga a lot less frightening, haha

LOL that is funny and strange that I said that and you are afraid of cats. I always disliked cats and was a dog person when i was a child, but when I got my own kitten and raised him it changed how I view cats completely!
However I am really impressed with your realism skills, and I am a moderator for the group #Masters-of-Realism if you are ever interested in submitting. the admins dont prefer fan art but we feature a variety of realistic art and some of the most amazing artists here on dA if you are interested.

The cat I was so afraid of was my childhood cat, who has since passed, so I don't think cat ownership will really make me like them, haha. I can appreciate other people's cats now, I just don't really want my own. To each their own, though, haha.
