i got bored the other day at school...so i drew a gijinka of one of the eucalyptus trees outside
trying out a new way of shading...again!...this time it's a combination of my 3 experimental styles (gradient, that blurry one, and the new way i've been highlighting)
...i really dislike the emptyness of the front of her dress...but i do like the leaves on her hair piece

I think it looks fine. Sometimes plain and simple dresses are the way to go. Don't want to overdo it and create "too much commotion" in a calm, simple, soothing pic.

Maybe you're just used to adding so much detail that it felt awkward to have something so simple that worked. I have that feeling for programming sometimes when I do a large programming session and it works right on the first try and then I go "Hmmm...it...worked completely right? Ummm...that's awkward...usually a minor logic glitch or something...nope...okay...."
